Sorry my friend but McClement is a great face off winning center.. him and Bolland will not be mixed.. if anything the Leafs will try to get Bolland into the top two lines.. because of his scoring prowess in Jr's.

Now if the Leafs get another top center... than maybe Bolland slides back.. but right now he will be in the 1 or 2 slot until he fails. This is Nonis thinking not mine.. although I believe he is worth the shot... he is highly competitive.

Maybe... I am a big Bolland fan all the way back to his junior days. But he did start this year playing with Kane and Sharp and did squat offensively. I know because I picked him in the pool as my sleeper ...

Plus Grabs has already shown he is not a third line player...

According to Corsi Gardiner was Toronto's best defensive player this year and McClement was their worst.

lol

It's almost completely backwards.

Completely backwards...

If rumours were true.. Gardiner to Carolina for the 5th.. I would've done that in a heart beat.. besides maybe 2 games in the playoffs.. Gardiner is the most atrocious player in his own end.. sure he carries the puck behind the net on a rush.. which so many people love.. but then he loses it and causes odd man rushes that our goalies have to deal with and get blamed for.

I would've traded him in a heart beat for 5.. if that was the deal.. I would've even thrown in a couple of second rounders to boot... and would've kept my late round pick in a deep draft.

I've never even bothered to follow or read up on that corsi. Is there a site that tries to explain it?

The defensive part of the game is usually the last to develop for a defensemen....... especially an offensive one.

He will improve.

I'd say Holzer was even worse than Gardiner and by some miracle Corsi shows him as the 2nd worst on the team so it was close to being right with him.

Gardiner was horrific defensively in the regular season. Bad mistakes and he didn't win any puck battles. He was better in the playoffs though.

Awesome points but I did say we still need a number one... that is the way it will start.. will it finish that way?

Also Bolland has been carrying a lot of injuries.. and it is a new team... with Kessel on his wing and going to the dirty areas.. he could easily double his previous points... Bolland is adaptable and that is why I like him... in reality.. I would still hope the Leafs land a number one and he gets slotted at 3rd again.

Agreed... for all the talk of Eakins greatness.. he never did help any player on the defensive end... Gardiner was sent down with the same habits he brought up. ONly Carlyle can fix him.

In essence he is Bozak with a cheaper price tag.. and with two Stanley Cup rings.. not to mention all his Jr titles...

So Bozak is better than Bolland?

Kadri came up exponentially better defensively this year so I don't think we can blame Eakins for anything.

Missed you too Robin... not really got banned for a few days think it was 4 over nothing.. then got some major projects... didn't have any time for Hockey Buzz.

Have some new big projects coming.. and will be booked fully for the next 4 to 6 mths.

Just here because of the draft... work pays.. it is all added money too.. so excuse me as I pad my stats.. I don't mean to ignore you and your brilliance...

Agreed the pedigree is better tho... I have a feeling this will help to resign Bozak at the right price point.

So it's basically some number cruncher's attempt to make a system that sounds like it's important by actually being completely useless, yet people will continue to bust it out as if they know what they are talking about when it comes to it?

It is funny how us as Leaf fans are a bit more forgiving when a young flashy puck mover makes mistakes over a young meat head that makes them.

He learned from Carlyle.. he was a horrible defender coming from Eakins.. all his progress was under Carlyle... under Eakins you get playing time by your skill level.. with Carlyle... it comes from being effective in game situations.

All Eakins proved was that the Leaf scouts did a good job... and he motivated well.

Glad to have you back.

You were talk of the town for a little bit after that episode.

Nice draft day for the Leafs yesterday.

Now although I have performed frontal lobe labotimies with the right touch.. I generally do not perform surgery...

I said projects not operations...

In that scenario is it Grabo bought out, or McClement going wing?
