So Bozak is better than Bolland?
- Feeling Glucky?

Offensively and on faceoffs, neither of them should be playing on a first line though.

You mean this interview?

He doesn't say anything to that effect. When asked if he's a 3rd line center on the Leafs, he says: "I think that's where he's been slotted but if you look at his junior numbers... they were exceptional… Carlyle won't pigeon hole him, he'll use him all areas… a more prominent role.. ".

He's not gifting him the #1 hole man; he'll start on the 3rd line, get PP minutes, and like I said, he may outplay Kadri and Grabovski, but I would highly doubt anyone has him pencilled into the #1 slot right now.

Yes that was the exact quote.. which clearly states he is not a number 3.. Grabo is the one that needs to work to displace...

I guess a more prominent role means 4th line duty as some suggest...

Pretty well in every aspect. Go check out Bollands Corsi stats. Not a pretty sight.

@tsnjamesduthie: We were on the plane ready to takeoff. Now back in airport, stuck here. So basically, we got Luongoed.

Awesomeness... it is quotes like that that will make him loved and get him fired in the same process...

2 for truth.

in a side note, I wonder where UG is and what he'd be saying about this trade. The guy wanted the Leafs to trade every piece on this team for Bolland. Now he'd probably be bashing the guy to hell.

- Feeling Glucky?

He's washed up, that concussion ruined his career, we shouldn't have traded our 2nd blah blah blah blah.

No he'll be used more prominently in a 3-2 game you are winning with5 mins to go.

You take "more prominent" as meaning "#1 center"?

Corsi stats are flawed. I'd rather have Bolland on my third line, but I'd rather have Bozak in an offensive roll. Bozak had a lot more minutes, and Toronto stat counters. keep that in mind.

How was it sink or swim for him? He's still a prospect, prospects develop at different speeds, we are developing him right and now throwing him in the water as you would suggest. Leave him be, he's not a bust and he's not proven.
- MapleLeafsFTW

I love my prospects and will not fault you for believing in him.. but my train has passed on him... just my opinion..

Well until July 5th, don't bring up #1C or Bozak. After July 5, he'll be gone and we'll be free to talk Lecav and Kadri or whomever else is best fit.

Also, for (frank) sakes, don't say G-A-R-D-I-N-E-R.

I also believe you were willing to pass on Kadri last year if I'm not mistaken, you need to be more patient with them. You don't root a plant because it's not growing fast enough for your liking.

What was the question? will he be a 3rd line? Will Kadri losing every faceoff mean he is the go to guy... at number 1 there are only two slots above the question...

Like I said we still need a number 1 center...

I said he'd start the season on the 3rd line, and may out-play Kadri or Grabovski. You said he'd be playing with Kessel; that's a #1 center role.

According to Corsi Gardiner was Toronto's best defensive player this year and McClement was their worst.

lol

It's almost completely backwards.

No you are wrong I said that Kadri was horrible in his own end and that Wilson treated him badly playing worse defensive players in front of him.. I wanted him to get his shot.. what Kadri proved was that he could under Carlyle's system improve... his defensive play in the second half was awesome.

But his faceoff skills are a disgrace... something I know from his competitive streak will be addressed this summer.

Now I did suggest they trade Kadri pre-last season but that was to pick up a substantial player... I never have ever written this kid off... actually.. I think with the write words in his ears he could be the best 2nd line center in the league...

Don't be too surprised then since I told you so.. bar we get another center.. and bar.. Kadri becomes a face off magician.. which are both possible..

In fact, I think they showed McClement as one of the worst in the league.
