Oh hell yeah anyone is better then what we have. I give it a week before people on this site claim him NHL ready then another week before he's our 1c.

60 points for a rookie is nothing to get upset about. The guy needs time and he'll get it. The Leafs no longer bring 18 year old players onto their team. Just give him the time that he needs and he'll be fine.

He's a two way player and he managed 60 pts in 62 games. He is not Crosby, Ovie or MacKinnon.. Take it easy bud.

Meh doesn't prove anything, so he's not a scored doesn't mean he can't pass. Getzlaf never broke 30 in junior either.

Hockeysfuture analysis:

Already a polished prospect, Gauthier combines great size with a mature game at both ends of the ice. The same on-ice vision and hockey sense that makes him a dangerous contributor at the offensive side of the game also serves him well in breaking up opposing plays in his own zone. He's strong on the cycle, skates well and uses his size to win battles. Though he may never be a top offensive threat, he has too many tools to ignore.

Think we're looking at a future top notch third line pivot with second line potential.

I personally would have passed and aimed for someone with a higher ceiling. Solid role players with upside can be plucked all over the 2nd/3rd rounds. You've gotta try to hit the home run with middle of the pack firsts.

Shinkaruk will be a pick that leaves a lot of heads hung for passing him up in the future. Hate to see gillis do something right. Hartman would've been great to.
