Our new 1c can also play Jaws in James Bond movie. - honesthockey
Why's he the no.1 c?. He has never been projected as that |

Finally someone with a brain chimes in. The kid has offense and is said to be great i his own end too. I think this is the pick that Nonis wanted and we'll like the kid when he comes up.

I don't get where this no offense bs is coming from, his stats speak for themselves. He doesn't have enough of an edge though at this point. - MapleLeafsFTW
22 goals is one of the lowest totals in ghe 1st rounc this year. and no goals (2pts) in the playoffs.
Just going off the scouting reports. When you are comparing guys scoring 50 goals, 40 goals high 30s 22 is low. |

So just like we suspected. Luongo stays because nobody wanted that mammoth of a contract and they get a good return from Schneider. Somehow he salvaged a day! |

60 points for a rookie is nothing to get upset about. The guy needs time and he'll get it. The Leafs no longer bring 18 year old players onto their team. Just give him the time that he needs and he'll be fine. |

He's a two way player and he managed 60 pts in 62 games. He is not Crosby, Ovie or MacKinnon.. Take it easy bud. |

Meh doesn't prove anything, so he's not a scored doesn't mean he can't pass. Getzlaf never broke 30 in junior either. |

Hockeysfuture analysis:
Already a polished prospect, Gauthier combines great size with a mature game at both ends of the ice. The same on-ice vision and hockey sense that makes him a dangerous contributor at the offensive side of the game also serves him well in breaking up opposing plays in his own zone. He's strong on the cycle, skates well and uses his size to win battles. Though he may never be a top offensive threat, he has too many tools to ignore. - ThePresident
Think we're looking at a future top notch third line pivot with second line potential.
I personally would have passed and aimed for someone with a higher ceiling. Solid role players with upside can be plucked all over the 2nd/3rd rounds. You've gotta try to hit the home run with middle of the pack firsts.
Shinkaruk will be a pick that leaves a lot of heads hung for passing him up in the future. Hate to see gillis do something right. Hartman would've been great to. |

Nonis is clearly working pretty hard to get something done. He even said it's the shrinking cap is really facking them up. |

Or maybe we could be like you and write him off around 5 mins after drafting him. You guys are just as bad and as prominent as the guys who overrate players |

He seems a bit slow.... - ThePresident He's French! That's the Province that doesn't like ethnic head-dresses, fines restaurants for not having French 3 times larger on the menu. They're the province that thinks socialism is a good thing and that squeezing the rest of Canada's balls is fun. Move him to Ontario, and he'll excel.
