Exactly -- they've missed the playoffs for seven straight years, they want to get better, nobody's available, but they want a 28-year-old Top 4 defenseman under contract for the next three years at $4.5 million per?

I understand it isn't easy, and they don't have to trade for Braydon Coburn. But at some point, you have to look at what you have and ask yourself exactly what you've got that's so worth keeping.
