Morin is 6'7, skates well and is tough as nails. I still think there may have been a deal to make, but I'm more than willing to be patient and give the kid a chance. The kid has the potential to turn into a beast if he can pack another 30-40 lbs onto his frame.
- BiggE

I think I would like to know how good he is with the puck.

Maybe I'm on an island with this thought but I think I would traded Scott Laughton to a team looking to move their first rounder if possible. Laughton is coming off a good regular junior season but the Flyers have a chance to balance out their roster. I'm not sure I even want Laughton to make the team this year. Unless we sign Lecavalier I'm hoping we find more experience in the middle and get better at the dot. I would be all for having Laughton play with the Phantoms and picking up a guy like David Steckel.

How can they do that now that they've traded Schneider. I think this all had to do with Vancouver ownership refusing to pay Luongo for the next 20 years
- PhillySportsGuy

i don't think they would. lack isn't ready i don't think. there was no way they were buying him out, and why would they dump him for crappy assets and still have to eat salary in a trade. gillis blew it, but lu's still an excellent goalie. lu could mope all season. i dunno...should be interesting in vancouver this year, especially with (frank)ing fonzi at the helm.

Well, thats a different story.
More likely, marty would have to show significant decline instead of schneider just playing better.

- nails

Well we know that Schnieder is an NHL goalie. The Devils didn't trade the 9th pick in the draft, so Schnieder can open and close the door on the bench.

So... Did they really just pick a better skating version of Lauridsen with the 11th pick or is this a bad dream?.............................
- Yosimar89

That might not be a bad thing in a couple years.

Whoever's playing better. Gotta give Schneider games, no matter what.
- tangent_man

I agree. Marty is gone after next season. If the season goes south, Schneider will definitely get the games. Im sure most people believe Schneider is already better than marty

Glad Luongo isn't coming to Philly. Wanted no part of him. Guess we shall find out who the goaltender will be this year on Friday.

Who's the starter in NJ this Season?
- MJL

pretty sure marty will still have the reigns in his final year, but he will not be the workhorse he's been his whole career.

I'll answer this by asking another question. Do you think the Flyers think that's the kind of player they drafted?
- MJL

Wait a minute... Isn't that what you usually do to people who have a different view from you?

Anyways, go do your MJL shtick to someone who actually cares enough about what you have to say to argue with you over some meaningless poop and beat it to death for pages and pages.

Laughton can't play with the Phantoms this upcoming Season. It's make the Flyers., or back to Juniors.

Everyone calm down.. This kid jumped in the rankings due to his strong play and work ethic. I'm ok with it the scouts know more than we do and they seem to have a knack for qmjhl players

Nope, not at all. I would be surprised at all if scheneider start 40 games as the "back up"
I just think that to unseat the monarch in his last year, either marty falters big, or sxhneider posts something just ridiculous like a .980 and a 1.0
