for years we've been complaining how the Flyers haven't developed any D men ... well now we have one to develop, and the kid has a great upside.

I hope Homer finds a way to move up into the first and can snag another D man or two.

I was thinking the same thing.....a lot of arm chair QBs who don't have a clue.....these are kids....Frankly I was hoping for Max Domi....after Nurse went off board...but I don't scout these kids....so hopefully Prongers influence means something...

I don't know much about these kids. But the picked seemed like a reach. Who knows. He's not close to NHL ready.

Thats where my thing is.

With their history of drafting D, to reach for him, with other players still on the board is kind of weird.

Especially with their need to get actual talent on the back end. Hopefully Timonen gets IV's of Viagra to keep him going another 5 years. Thats what they are counting on apparently.

I would have taken Zadorov, Pulock, Shinkaruk before Morin...I don;t dislike him, just feel he's a guy that they reached on.

The year Shea Weber was drafted #42 or whatever... if a team saw into the future and knew what he'd be and decided to pick him like, #14, would people have groaned this much about it?

And as has been said... we don't know how easy it is to just trade around in the draft. All these rumors about Coburn may be just that, rumors with no real interest from one of the other sides.

haha i know. i do live there, and im sure i apply that mentality to a lot of things in life, but female doging that a prospect wont be ready this year? none of these guys except the odd few are going to be. pens wont see maata or pouliot this year, guess they should just be thrown on the scrapheap then haha

Would of liked to see the Flyers add an offensive defenseman who can skate and move the puck. Hopefully this kid can do that down the road.

I do trust him. They've gone off the board with Justin Williams, Claude Giroux, Steve Downie, Scott Laughton. They know how important this pick is.

It's unfortunate that a kid who has clearly risen on the draft boards, gotten better over the course of the year, is getting killed like this, but it happens, I guess.

Most of the CHL guys I follow say Morin has average offensive upside, is a good skater and physical. I just think they could have traded down a bit and gotten him.

Who knows, maybe they can trade Coburn or Read and get another 1st and take another guy.
