I don't think that 30 goals is an unreasonable expectation.
- MJL

Maybe. I'm think he is around 25 goals from here on out.

That type of money is an elite/franchise type defenseman.

I look at Chara, Weber, Keith, Seabrook, etc.

I like Letang but I don't think he's on that level. Very good offensive defenseman who can skate the puck out but his defense isn't great.

You're comparing cap hits to salary. Look at Weber's salary, not his Cap hit. Look at Suter's salary, not his Cap hit. That's what two top defenseman signed for last year.

It is tremendous to see Pronger at Newark today, really looking forward to seeing him on the podium hopefully. If the Nurse chatter is correct, if they do move Coburn, gotta believe Nurse will make the NHL roster. Everything I have read suggests he is physically ready. Depending on what you read, the long-term projections of Jones and Nurse are very close.

I hope you are right about Nurse, I am concerned that he is currently a man playing against boys and the NHL will be a huge wake up call.

Giroux and Voracek are pretty good linemates to play with.
- MJL

Hartsy played with Giroux and Jagr that year.

We wouldn't pick Nurse at #5. He's only ever gonna be a top-4 defenseman so trading a top 4 defenseman plus your pick to get him doesn't make sense.
- JAKEw1234

That would be nice if barkov dropped to 5

morin may be more of a late 1st or early 2nd, but damn he reminds me of pronger in stature, skating style...
- isaiah520

He is more of a project to take at 11, but if they can get a late first or get him in the second I am on board, cause I agree with you very Prongeresk

If Hartsy is motivated I have to believe he can touch near that number again. Last year was an off year, I'm hoping it lit a fire under his jock strap.
- coffee junkie

Will see. Would be fantastic if he does but I just don't think it happens. A lot went right for him that year when he hit 37 goals. He had a ton of PP goals that year.

I haven't seen him play in the NHL, I can't make that determination whether he will only be a certain type of player. Besides, it doesn't matter what I think, I'm just trying to figure out what the Flyers are going to do.

I'm talking cap hits. You are correct. Salary is great but the "hit" is what's important for building your team.

He (MJL) is playing a double standard game with you. Salaries and cap hits are pretty close now post CBA. He wants you to compare a post CBA signing to his examples which were before.

I think any prospect who plays right away in the NHL is going to experience a physical disadvantage to a certain point. Nurse apparently is pretty strong for his age, so his physical disadvantage might not be as impairing.

Nurse is a safe pick with a lower ceiling. Ristolainen and Pulock have higher ceilings than Nurse, but Nurse is much lower-risk to end up being a top-4 guy.

I'm quite aware of that. I said that expecting Hartnell to play with Giroux and Voracek this upcoming Season.

Nichushkin is 6-4 200 pounds. Barkov is 6-2 200 pounds. Those 2 at least will be alright I think

penguins did the right thing in signing Letang. Cap should go up more than letang's increase.

Risto is the safe pick for sure nurse is a risk reward guy imo

They just showed Nurse telling what he learned from uncle McNabb just now on NHLN.

All I can picture is Nurse with a stupid grin on his face after a mistake leading to a goal against.
