That's some pretty fast growth, maybe he's taking testosterone supplements?
- JAKEw1234

I went from 165 my senior year in HS to 185(all good weight) after my freshman year in college on the weight lifting program so it's not really that big considering how tall he is.

Interesting stuff from La Presse -- the Canadiens apparently wanted the Flyers' 11th pick ... to pick Morin.

Really, the only thing that made me sour today is realizing that, once again, the NHL is ruled by GMs who are so terrified of losing a trade, they won't make any at all to improve their clubs.

Back before the web and blogs and 24-hour scrutiny, those guys would make moves and be totally unafraid of the consequences. That was back when Cliff Fletcher once said "Draft, schmaft" to a reporter in totally dismissing the value of selecting 18-year-olds to improve your NHL club.

Now?

You get Mike Gillis so afraid to move Roberto Luongo "for less than his value" 12 months ago, he moves THE OTHER GOALIE after he finds out the other one is untradable.

You have the Colorado Avalanche with Ryan O'Reilly, Matt Duchene, Paul Statsny and now Nathan MacKinnon...and not nearly enough quality wingers to support them. So, in the pre-terrified to make a trade world, you'd see Paul Statsny shipped off to, say, Calgary, for Mike Cammalleri. And it'd be done, and both teams would be better off.

Now? The Avalanche have to "study their options."

Good Lord.

Morin at #11?

I like Hagg with the 2nd pick...but Morin though? With Poluck still on the board??

- Giroux_Is_God

In thinking about it, Morin isn't that much different form Zadorov, a player I've coveted and wanted if Nurse was gone...both are huge players with a nasty side who can skate well and have offensive upside that is largely untapped. I can see him, at minimum being a solid 4/5 D man who makes the Flyers harder to play against with his size, mobility and on ice temperament...if his offensive game continues to develop the sky is the limit.

At this point the Flyer may better be served, or maybe this is their only option, to hang on to all of their injured dmen and showcase them in the preseason and early part of the season. They really have nothing to lose, they are not going to get anything for Mez unless he reverts back to his old form. He has to show it.

I agree pretty boring day in general and Gillis seems like a complete idiot. He just seems like a very stubborn GM who was never realistic. The same deal with Edmonton would like to know what they were offering Homer. They obviously want Coburn or some player on the Flyers.

I said it earlier today -- how can a team that has missed the playoffs for eight straight years have so many guys who are untouchable? It makes no sense!

No, maybe you can't do Braydon Coburn for Jordan Eberle straight up, if you're Craig MacTavish. So do Braydon Coburn and Scott Laughton for Jordan Eberle and a second-round pick!

But do something instead of leaving New Jersey with the same roster that's missed the playoffs for eight straight years!

I gotta say starting to get a little nervous when it comes to goalie options...Pretty much down to Emery and Nabby and maybe Theodore. Maybe Flyers can swoop in on a goalie trade but would rather not have to give up any roster players for that. May have to roll with Mason this season

They have a bunch of defensemen drafted from last season, too.

Took four and traded for another.

Ek says flyers are in the lead for lecavalier.

I'd be shocked if ek was right but I'd be happy to have Vinny on the 2nd line

No more commentary about what our plan is for goal. I'd say at this point were going with mason and a backup like emery.

Im ok with it. There's a lot of tread left. Have to wonder about B schenn here and if he will be in play for a trade

I would like us to trade for another young goalie but I can't think of any that would be possible

I think he ends up on the wing I just hope if they do that they leave him there that's part of the problem they always move guys back and forth. I also think that coby and read could be gonners. Coby read and a pick for eberle. Or am I just thinking out of my ass

Good analysis. I agree. I think this luongo situation costs gillis his job. Now u have luongo on this long contract and u can't buy him out because u traded the other guy. I think van city is on the down slope
