Interesting stuff from La Presse -- the Canadiens apparently wanted the Flyers' 11th pick ... to pick Morin.

- Jsaquella

Not surprising... They need some size and toughness, which is why they took McCarron who's 6 foot 5 and 228 pounds with the 25th.

Morin at #11?

I like Hagg with the 2nd pick...but Morin though? With Poluck still on the board??

- Giroux_Is_God

I really liked Pulock really really wanted Risto though oh well. Pulock has a great shot but from all accounts he needed some work too. I think the Flyers did really well with picking up Hagg and Morin. We will see how they turn out though.

I spent most of the afternoon watching stuff on Hagg and Morin. I had no issues with Morin being the pick if they had moved down, but wasn't a fan of taking him at 11.

That said, He really does move well for such a big kid and he seems to have a really good work ethic. Hopefully he and Hagg can be cornerstones of the defense for the future

They reached on their 1st pick and even bigger reach on their 3rd one, the rest of the guys i have no idea who they are and neither did most people. With that said if one of the two becomes a no doubt top 4 dman i think it's a good draft, and hopefully the other at least top 6.

Morin moves well and his stickwork defensively looks very good. That reach will help, but from what I've seen if anything he needs to be more physical. Tyler Myers is who I think of I guess

More physical? If anything he's gonna have to tone down the PIM's especially the fighting majors, they drafted him 11th, which means they view him as a top 2 or at least top 4 guy and you can't have a such an important dman fighting so much, gotta stay on the ice.

I'm fine with this draft. Not overly excited but fine. B.

Yes, the 3rd selection is a terrible pick. I was personally hoping they would grab Subban with that one and I know a lot of people would have been pissed about that one too. But people would have complained a lot less.

Every guy they picked is a bit of a project, and will need time. I'd be surprised if anyone out of this class plays in the NHL in the next two years

I'm not so sure now they make any moves. Maybe a fa or two. But I think homer stands pat.

They have a bunch of defensemen drafted from last season, too.

Took four and traded for another.

Now thinking about it, I'll probably wake up tomorrow and 3/4 of the team will be gone and Jody Shelly will be resigned to an 8 year deal

Just hope the flyers dont f*ck with these kids and rush them in. Hagg seems pretty grounded from his quotes, knows he needs to work on consistency.

I've calmed down, Morin is growing on me I guess.

The 3rd round pick is the flyers just being the flyers.

Yeah, I don;t like the third rounder at all...could have gotten him in the 5th or 6th round.

Morin...if the La Presse story is true, then they couldn't have dropped back and landed him. He's not a pylon, despite the size, so it won;t be a Boris Valabik situation.
