I totally agree about Petan. Too many people are passing on him cause of his size.
- lkeh73

The puck seems to follow him whenever he is on the ice. I like that.

If only i had time off to come out to Calgary, been a few years since I left. Loved to head out to High River area on he motorcycle and stop at one of the many biker bars for a cold one!

5'8 165 is just too small in a league where guys will have 20-40 pounds on him.

Yes the guy is too small on a team that is already too small.

I know there are small guys who make it to the NHL. I think there will be better options for a team that wants to get bigger at 24 then a 5'8 skill guy. They already have that type of player and you just can't teach size.

Luc Bourdon (RIP) was around 6'2 and over 200 pounds (and he was just starting to fill out)

So in 5 years when everyone is whining that we should have taken him I don't want to hear any of it.

Put Kassian on o e side and Guance on the other and see how small he is.

He will still be 5'8-5'10....he is not the right player for them right now you just can't have 2 guys as small as Schroder and him in today's NHL and be sucessful.

Damn, had to travel for it. Also picked up a couple of Fruli. Probably another 20 minutes until I can crack one.

It's not like Schroeder is a lock to be here by the time Petan is ready to play. If he's BPA then he's BPA.

Klefbom, Paajarvi, 7th overall for Cory and Schroeder

Edler, Burrows for 5th Overall, Skinner

- Gullzy

^^^ this..
id even do edler for 5th overall straight up. hes been brutal and needs a change of scenery.

this is one of the deepest drafts in years. take monahan 5th and nichushkin 7th.
load up on high end draft picks especially with our prospect cupboard bare.
edler and cory are expendable. we have quality pieces that can fill in.
buy out ballard and booth. use the extra cash for a FA signing.

we will be able to be competitive now AND more importantly the future.

That's true he still was a player on a good team. How did he play in the Memorial Cup? Did any one see him? That would be a good gauge.
