So why is Seguin being shopped around? I thought Seguin and Hamilton were the future stars for the bruins. Did they give up on him, because of his poor playoff performance.
- Jadass12

it's weird. he actually played pretty good in the finals i though. just abit snakebitten.
not to mention a very great 2012 regular season and another decent one this year. the kid is a great player, no two ways about it.

they got ridiculous depth down the middle and since hes a true centermen, maybe they wanna move him for a cheaper, but true winger before that big raise kicks in?

I don't think they are giving up on him, he is still progressing nicely. He had a tough year, whether it was due to the lockout or not being able to readjust his game after playing in the Swiss league. He had a very good Sophomore season, and if they decide to keep him he will have a great one next year playing with Krejci and Lucic.

As for Hamilton he is doing just fine. He played well during the regular season and continues to adjust to the pro game. It certainly helps to practice with guys like Chara and Seidenberg.

Why not?

Boston almost won the cup without him.

Trade him and get some good, CHEAP futures.

What you end up getting, will be better than Seguin.

- Aetherial

I can't see the Leafs trading Kessel for him.

the narrative will be about his poor playoffs but the main reason is probably the cap issues (just over $5M in space and they need to re-sign Rask and replace a few others)

though I don't know, I heard they would prefer to move Peverley/Kelly

anythings possible i suppose, but he just won the hart trophy. i cant imagine anybody being unhappy with the way he played.....

I know, I would never say Ovechkin is not a superstar player. He absolutely is, BUT, do you want a team that has 1 player who will win tonnes of awards or do you want a team that wins a Stanley cup? They have been the Washington Ovechkins for what like 8 years now? Hes revitalized the market in Washington and now that market wants some deep playoff runs. At some point something has to give.

Oh yeah, well my cousin, has a buddy who used to work for this guy who moved on to be a major executive with Pepsi. Anyway, one of his regional managers told him his delivery guy in Boston was loading the machines at TD Garden and he said hi to Horton, and gave him a Diet Pepsi. Horton then told him he wanted to go back to Florida. So ,yeah.

I think that would be the reason to get rid of him, it all comes down to cap space and position. I doubt it they get a top 3 pick for Seguin, but you never know.

why not? why is it always the next guy is the sexy choice?
seguin plays on a team with the best center depth in the league.

i still think he projects to be a star first line center.

i wouldnt say unequivocally than anyone outsid eof mackinnon projects to be better. he was just a 2 pick a couple years ago. and is only 21. and already had a 67 point season

I was just joking around...I would like to see them land a #1 young dman like Yandle/Edler and a vet goalie to mentor Mason...Also go after another top 6 forward...
- Flyfreaky

Yea picking up yandle or edler would be beautiful! Maybe try to trade for one of those two guys and sign a vet goalie like tim thomas possibly cause he would most likely be cheap for a yr cause he took last season off but i think timmy would help mentor mason and make him a solid starter if he isnt going to be one already

to say nothing of the fact that he sells tickets, i think ud build around your hart trophy winner. not through him.

i think it's a huge longshot.

I think unless Chiarelli is blown away by an offer, Seguin stays with the Bruins. He will get his shot to be the go to guy on the 1st line next season, and he has already shown a great deal of chemistry with Krejci and Lucic. He's just the new whipping boy in Boston because of his performance during the year, last year it was Lucic.

I think Kelly, Peverley, or Boychuck are moved at some point in the future.

I know, but I'm just saying maybe the teams in the top 3 would rather keep their pick. I'm not saying Seguin is a bad player, I know it sounded like that, but I didn't mean it that way.
