having a guy high up in any given organization leaking rumours about what his boss's possible intentions are really makes no sense if you sit and think about it.
when did the media or insiders start making bs trade rumours such big business?
or more impotantly when did we start believing that some asst scout or even more ridiculous an asst gm is calling dreger to tell him what his teams plans may or may not be? or we're led to believe they have some rat in the room that's leaking everything day after day? how long do u think before someone loses his job? a couple weeks? a month?
and if it's just a phone chat from gm to gm to kick tires on said player, how the eff would that ever trickle down to said insiders ears? does he call in the whole staff every time he speaks to another gm?
it's really all pretty laughable this notion of knowing what gm's are or arent doing.
for the most part, one would have to assume we know only what they want us to know. which from every indication over the years is next to nothing. im sure theyll throw a blogger a bone from time to time as they know its part of the biz, but
to claim anything else or to say you have access to multiple rumours a day is absolute bs. this whole rumour industry really doesnt make alot of sense |

okay lets go with kanes numbers since he entered the league...
goals kane 149... marty 157
assists kane 275.... marty 333
points.... kane 424... marty 490
you guys say marty had the best year this year but hes been the best for the last 10 years. the season before kanes was martys best at 102 points. - boltsfan48
Kane has 424 points in his first six seasons in the league (444 games.)
St. Louis had 320 points in his first six seasons (442 games).(well, technically seven since I combined the first two years as one year.)
Wait until Kane is St. Louis's age before you can start comparing which player is better. Kane won the Conn Smythe and now has two cups in his first six years.

" I am told the eighth year the incumbent team has the ability to add to a contract could play a major part in where certain players (like Horton and Dupuis) sign"
Umm correct me if im wrong but is it not stated in the CBA that the 8th year is only a option if the player is already a member of the team they are resigning with?I could be wrong but i was under the impression that this was a major sticking point to getting the CBA done.. |

Is Seguin and Monahan a possibility? would definitely offer 22 and 28 with Gaudreau. |

he's a 21 year old former 2nd overall with two cup runs and a buttload of star potential.
they could probably get into the top 5 for him. i dont see the late firsts enough |

it's not like it just occured to me, ive always known. but ill think about something of that ilk or remind myself that it's all bs. and then inexplicably find myself the very next day arguing with some guy about some rumour that i know doesnt have a shred of truth to it.
how do i keep getting trapped?
is it a sickness? |

Means little. His playoff numbers are terrible. They went to the finals in-spite of him. |

I'm hearing Horton wants to hopefully move to NY or LA... so his wife can start modelling again.
Her parents have sold the family home and are waiting to see where Nathan ends up to follow the kids there!!!

Wait! What about Horton taking his talents to South Beach!! Modeling?!?, Oh, wait again... Been there, done that, and....No Thanks!!

Kane, so far, is the better player. Kane is doing this at a much younger age than St.Louis. Question is, can Kane keep this up and be mature headed enough to battle as hard as St.Louis in his later years? Guesstimating here, but Kane was 19/20 years old when he burst into the league, where as St.Louis was in his mid 20s by the time he played his first full season and was even close to being impactful.
Truth is, Kane has won 2 cups and is still younger than St.Louis was when he played his first NHL season. In fact, I think St.Louis was the same age as Kane is now, when he played his first NHL game.
As of today though, Kane>St.Louis. See Cups won. |

Ease up on the goof mode, tough guy.
71 points in 74 playoff games is excellent, not terrible. 2 cups, Conn Smythe..yea he sucks. We all know you could do better, but thats not the point here. |

Hey EK, I would expect updates on a day like this to be coming pretty often, hell the last couple of days for that matter, what gives. Just not getting what I expect out of this sight. Sorry. |

Kessel didnt match or beat seguins 67 point season as 20 year old till he was 23.
Even then, he still only ended with 64.
