Darcy has been here over a decade. We have seen this game over and over.
I dont want to throw venom I want the sabres to winnnnnnn. In my opinion he over values players and misses out on deals to make this franchise better. Picks the wrong types of players and cant make a fair hockey trade. Also when given money throws it away like packman Jones at a strip club. - hafgod
That's only half true. For every player he overvalued and missed out on, there's another he overvalued and hit a homerun. I agree it can get frustrating but that isn't his biggest problem.
The Pominville trade was pretty fair, I thought Roy for Ott was decent too. I agree he assembled a bad core and should be fired for its failure but he's been the benefactor of constant change in ownership which essentially buys him a clean slate every time.
UFA is about overpaying players, the Myers contract is rough but he can still redeem himself. Not saying Darcy shouldn't be fired but your criticizing the wrong things. I'd say the biggest thing wrong with Regier is he tries to play it to safe especially in the trade market. He's not the kind of guy who will package a couple of top prospects and 1st for that big time player which probably pisses a lot of fans off. That and he hasn't won squat in 16 years |

do u think the pegula should of fired reiger and brought in someone like Nill or Burke? - Jurco_28
OMG YES! I have been advocating to bring Nill in since Pegula officially took over. I really thought after this year they'd consider that hiring I was so mad when he went to Dallas. |

I'd be shocked if he was moved. I expect darcy to wait to see how FA plays out and who misses out on which player and take advantage of their desperation. |

You sound foolish. He has Drury's work ethic. He's sound defensively. He's just picking up on his offensive game. Gees!!! - sippyd
I've been going to Amerks games for over 20 years watching the next great sabres prospects, more often then not when a guy is drafted in the first rd by Darcy they are not going to amount to anything, so many times over the years sabres fans act so excited about first rd picks like they are a 5 year old at Christmas time. Last year on the Amerks watching the so called amazing group of sabres prospects was just plain dull and lacking in excitement, none of the guys were showing me anything, Pysyk can't play tough or hit, his offensive skills are average at best like a Chris Butlers, McNabb was getting beaten wide by many of the faster AHL wingers who had speed to burn. The only scorers on the Amerks last year were AHL veterans like Mancari who have zero chance to make the NHL roster. Grigenson was NOT some amazing defensive player like all you goofs are saying hes the next Drury, he is a strong hard working player but I highly doubt he is going to be a big time NHL scorer. I've seen some damn great talented players rise up from the AHL over the last 25 years and I know natural scoring talent when I see it. When my team drafts in the first rd I want them to draft natural scoring talent...I don't want them to draft defensemen who can't score...cough cough Nurse. Would it be nice if Grigenson can someday score in the NHL like Chris Drury? Yes that would be nice but Darcy has a history of drafting busts in the first rd. It's a safe bet to make that any player Darcy drafts is not going to be anything special...
Over the years you hear all kinds of morons say "The guy is working on his offense and could develop into a scorer" LOL, why not listen to Bobby Orr when he says "You can't teach a guy to be a natural goal scorer but you can teach any player to play in his own zone because defensive play is hard work and position play. You either can score or you can't"...Instead of hoping a guy is going to somehow figure out how to score we should draft natural scoring talent, if a guy can't score big in junior hockey then what makes you think he is going to be a big scorer in the NHL? It's nice that Sabres fans are so positive and hold out hope that every year the first rd pick that Darcy made is going to be the next Brett Hull or Ray Bourque but I highly doubt it...He has a history of drafting guys with no mental toughness, look at Myers, the guy is soft as mink fur and earns 10 million dollars and can't even show up in shape to play. Myers is one of the worst pp defensemen I've seen in a lot of years, he just doesn't have that natural scoring talent like Coffey or Orr. It would have been nice to tank the season and not win all those games near the end, instead of trying to pretend to want to trade for a top 2 pick we could have earned one, a real GM would have made that happen.

It's the trust dude. People want change so badly but no matter how many people are moved out there is one constant, darcy. Whether he's a good GM making good moves is irrelevant at this point. After 16 years nobody trusts what he does. If he doesn't make a move he's a spineless coward if he does make a move he's a moron. That's why pegula should have fired him, not because he's a bad GM, but because the fans need something to revitalize their hope and faith in this team. |

Love the darcy defenders. - hafgod
Not a Darcy defender. He's just running with the pack and probably painted himself into a corner that he may never get out of. And he will certainly not be the trigger man to open the trade frenzy.
We know a little bit about the following:
1. Lindy Fired.
2. Lindy (apparently) had an informal exit discussion with Uncle Terry and (if the story is correct) may have thrown Darcy under the bus. Uncle Terry is surprised by Lindy's comments.
3. We presume Darcy is on the hot seat. We just don't know. And many now doubt Uncle Terry.
4. Hockey Heaven is now Hockey Hell.
5. We will suck next year, we just don't know how we are going to do it. The plan to suck is not known to us. That's the hard part.
BTW, I am a Ruff defender.
Also, I think we should take Santini at 38. I know nothing about him. I just went to grammar school with his dad. |

I doubt he's pretending to trade for a top 2 pick. Oh and on that note, you do realize that only 2 teams get to draft in the top 2 right? And it really is no reflection on how good a GM you are if you're in the bottom 2. |
