Why is everyone so excited for that Grigenson guy? I watched him play in the AHL all season, he is not any kind of natural scorer, he might be a good third line player Someday wow...I believe he had 6 goals all season. Just because a guy was a first rd pick everyone is acting like he's the next great one.
- MrSquirrel

It took him time to get used to AHL hockey, remember he was the youngest AHL player last year at 18 years old. He got much better as the year got on. He was the best playoff player, he scored 3 goals in 3 games in the playoffs. He is hardworking, hes a leader. He has the potential to be a player like bergeron.

Brad Marchand or Todd Marchant...? If Marchand, I agree. The only different would be Girgs wouldn't be as much of a cheap shot artist.
- LetsGoBuffalo75

Brad, my mistake, Girgs seemed to have a bit more grit and pestyness in juniors and showed more scoring in the playoffs (AHL), (when it really counted). Given the fact that he's only 18-19 years old I see more grit and toughness as he matures in the league and can put on some weight, although the dude is already ripped. Also played on the 3rd line most of the year in roch which would limit playing time and scoring chances

When he was drafted, they compared his game to Kesler's.

I've heard that there are few players who work harder than Girgs. The fact that he finished a shift, by setting up a goal, after breaking his jaw? Those are the kinds of players that will have this franchise back to where we all want it.

We'll have to wait and see what Darcy does... he does surprise us...sometimes. He is too conservative and slow, however, when it comes to pulling the trigger on an opportunity.... just hope he doesn't f*ck up the Miller and Vanek trades. As for the draft, I see us staying put. Teams above us know that their pick will get them some solid talent and would want the world for their position.

I agree, he will be a PERFECT #2 center behind grigorenko. Girgs is at the sabres arena working out every day, the kid doesnt stop. Now i would trade him for 1st overall straight up unlike the WGR "Expert" matt coller. I wouldnt trade him unless its a great return.

My impression of Cody is that he really wants to be that guy. Dude is still so young, and I see his upside waaaay bigger than Ennis....he just needs to work on his defense. I'll never forget one play when he busted ass 180 feet down the ice to beat out an icing, dished to Pommer for a one-timer...that hustle on a seemingly busted play made me a Hodgy fan.

I would be very happy to see Ennis traded, on the other hand. I do not believe he wants to be or can be the go-to guy.

So Mr Squirrel are you a professional hockey scout ? If you are I would suggest a change of careers . I have talked to few scouts and they seem to have a high opinion of Girgenson . You are aware that he was the youngest player in the AHL . With his work ethic they all agree he has a huge potential. But don't let facts get in the way of your argument.
- Maximum Signal

are they the same scouts working for Darcy the past 16 years? Those guys suck. True Story
