Opinions vary. - SABRES 89
if he just came to the team and you looked at his 2 year track record, you would have a different opinion of him
I am not a fan of him, and this is a make or break off season, but he has done a descent job lately

How many more times do we need to take a step back? how many more times do we need to hear "it takes time"? you look at this a totally differant way then most of us do. This team has taken enough steps backwards. - SABRES 89
Especially since Pegula sold us this bill of goods that our only reason for existing is to win the cup and there was a 3 year timeline. Someone should hold him accountable for that bullpoop. |

Wrong Leino and Myers, how about Hecht and Connolly. How can you defend this guy? are you serious.? - SABRES 89
Leino will be rectified. That was my example. I think hell turn out to be a solid player with a different role under a new coach.
Myers, I wont call that a bust yet. A lot of players, not just Myers, came into this lockout in bad shape and not ready to play. Thats on him, and I think Myers understands that. Hes stayed in Buffalo all off-season working out and I think hell be a wise investment now that Ruff is out and if he gets into shape.
I cant, nor ever will justify Connolly. It was a dumb decision from the minute they passed on Jarome Iginla in order to keep pursuing him. You have me there.
Hecht was a serviceable guy who unfortunately for Buffalo, his contract came up in the midst of crazy, league wide spending. His 3 mil per year was too much, but in a league where 3rd line guys routinely make 2.5-3 mil a yr, you have to expect a guy who could be top 6 on some teams would get that kind of money. And re-signing him this year was an OK move for a team that needed a vet center.
Your very quick to point out all of his flaws, and call out the things you dont like. Im hard pressed to remember anything that Regier has ever done that you have supported. Its the main reason why Ive always wondered why you are even a fan of this team, besides the fact that you were born here. Im half surprised you havent latched onto a California team given you live in Vegas |

I do. They skipped a bridge contract and went right to $5.5 million per for a guy who was only good 50% of the time at best. |

No, I wouldn't want him to anyway. If the Sabres were close to being a Cup contender I would want him to, but not during a rebuild. He'd take developmental ice time away from a youngster |

We'll see. Not going to judge him on a strike shortened season.

Only way Feaster trades the 6 to Buff is for 8 and 16. And then take whichever C falls to 8 be in Monoham or Lindholm. Then, hello 4 picks in the first rd. |

none of those are value contract IMO and they are all overpayment - navinrjohnson
It just the way the league has shaped. Every team has overpaid players to an extent. Some of you act like its just Regier. All of those guys got paid what was the comparable rate for a player of their caliber. Were going to see that this off-season too. Someone is going to crazy overpay a guy like Bickell |

Everyone can say that now but at the time of the contract he was seen as one of the top up and coming Dman. he was projected to be on the Canadian olympic team and anyone who makes that team is worth that contract. |

Im not saying you shouldnt be a fan of Regier. Im saying that in the years Ive read your posts, you have very rarely, if ever, agreed with any move the team has ever done.
And that is why I question why you still cheer for them. Ive hated Tim Connolly since the get go, but he scored some damn fine goals when he was here. Its fine to hate someone, but you have to give them credit for the good theyve done, even if it hurts. |

every player I named, he over evaluated with the contract
he gave a 4th liner second line money
a third liner second line money
second liners top line money
etc
rant over
and bickell and clarkson will get a bad contract next week |

So your ready to write him off at 23? You don't think he has any upside to be an excellent defensemen? I guess we just differ in our opinions.
