You really think Gillis is much better?
Everybody with a brain knew last year the trade market for luongo was poop. The only person who didn't know this was canuck fans and Gillis.
So equating Gillis's hockey knowledge to the same level of fans is not out of line. - Sheppy99
What did Canucks get for in the Lu trade? I missed that. |

Nothing, that actually was my point. |

It is actually the Media (Dreger ) that is causing this sh!tas usual. He is making up the rumours. I just heard him on the radio. Van and Edm will not be trading. Schneider may be going somewhere but not to a division rival. |

Can't disagree with this. Gillis' patience(which is really his stuborness) (frank)ed him over and he knows it. - Nucker101
Yup, Schneider should never have gotten his $4m deal unless Luongo was already on the move. |

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say he's a little smarter than most fans. Again, I think everyone(even non-delusional Canucks fans) will agree that Gillis overplayed his hand on this one and is now paying for it.
However, not being able to trade him and being forced to waive or buying him out could be a blessing in disguise as that way the Canucks won't get (frank)ed over with cap penalties down the road. |

How is Dreger causing poop? He's stating the obvious. If the canucks want a decent prospect and draft pick for a goalie, they should probably try trading the one with value.

Didn't help Lu's value when he said he only wants to go to Fla |

Gillis really does laugh at when Dreger makes reports about Canucks. He is as credible as Glenn Healy. |

Well, not everyone. Yesterday the discussion was that Pietrangelo for Luongo is the 7th best offer on the table.
"Darren Millard even said he heard that peitreangelo may be in play if Lou should be made available for St. Louis to steal from us, however there are currently believed to be 5 or 6 better offers."

Would you pay 24 Mil to a servicable player to tell him to take a hike? |

Gillis laughing at anyone but himself is kind of funny to me..... considering he's the 2nd worst GM in hockey...... (Feaster owning the #1 spot) |

If it meant that my franchise gets to keep a younger, better, cheaper player at the same position and I get relieved of any future cap penalties...yes it's a no-brainer to me. |

You're actually not that bad for a canuck fan. You're probably the most realistic one I've ever seen.
When you start acting like the rest, I know you're really just trying to stir up poop |

And yet the team still sells out and make profits every year and competes for top spot overall in the regular season as compared to a team that makes the playoffs for the first time in nine years.
I think your Canuck hatred is showing. |

Nope, Gillis should have moved Lu immediately after the playoff loss to the Kings when Lu said he wasn't sure if he'd be back next year. To the Panthers for whatever they were willing to give, a bad contract (that expired in a year or two) and a second round pick and a career AHL'er would have been great. Also, I doubt the NHL could apply the cap recapture penalty to the Canucks had they traded him prior to the new rule being implemented. |

Teams that have won the cup recently have not had that stud overpriced goalie every year. Crawford Halak Howard are three names in the last decade that have done it. I would not be surprised if Eddie Lack in 4 years or so is a cup winner. |

All things that were put into place before Gillis got there. You would of had a cup by now with a better GM.
I'm not comparing anything to the leafs. We had a terrible GM that set us back decades. I know what a bad GM can do to a team. This circus that has gone on in vancouver has gone on long enough. This drama is only holding your team back and it should make you question any decisions your GM is faced with other than this debacle. |

That's been confirmed by Bob McKenzie. |
