I like Seguin, but I'm not convinced that he will be any better than whatever center (Barkov, Monahan, or Lindholm) that the Flames can draft at 6th overall. There is lots of potential, but he has also underperformed a lot. Look at this past playoffs. 1 goal, and 8 points in 22 games. He was a minus player on a team that is known for having many plus players. And he lost his spot and was down to a winger on the third line and sometimes forth line. So while the Bruins may want a "King's Ransom" for him, the underlying reason as to why are they willing to deal him comes into play. You have to think it may be to do with Cap issues (especially if they are in on Lecavalier) but why reward them with a "King's Ranson" to help save their Cap.
I'd love to get him, but not at the cost of the 6th pick. If there was another way, then by all means. But not for that pick. |

How about....we re-sign Iggy to a year, and promise to trade him at the deadline to Boston. Is that enough for Seguin??? |

I agree. To me, it's about if he'll re-sign. If he's open to re-signing in Calgary and the asking price isn't ridiculous, he could be a good fit. - Todd.Cordell
Is he UFA or RFA next summer? |

well they are only 1 or 2 players away from a championship so they should trade all their first rounders away......... Feaster is putting the pieces of the puzzle together! - Sheppy99
Another Leaf troll thinking he's funny eh. Hmm I seem to recall Feaster saying that they are rebuilding, so... you're about 6 months behind everybody. |

How about Seguin, Hamilton and 2 first round picks for Phil Kessel?...Even after getting canned Brian Burke showed up why he's still the man. - sudburyboy
Burke did a great job at rebuilding the Leafs and he started with nothing. |

So in your opinion if it takes the 6th pick +... who do you try to get Schneider or Seguin?
It would be wild to see Taylor Hall vs Seguin in the Battle of Alberta! - EdEagle
Read is not worth Brodie, and I don't want Schneider. Broissot, Ramo...one of two will work out. |

Can't they just do a sign and trade if Read tells management he is ok leading a rebuild? |

He also was mediocre in the regular season. 32 points playing with Bergeron and Marchand. And 16 goals but 4 of them were empty netters. He is not worth the 6th overall plus whatever else Boston gm wants. Keep the pick. |

If they get assurances Read will re-sign, he would definitely be worth trading the #22 for. |

Tough call but I think seguin
A good goalie right now might get us to 9th again so I take the center now - Redmile247
I'd go seguin. 22/28 picks and Hudler?
Can play center or rw, two areas we need to fill
Can use the hall seguin thing. Fills a Iginla marketing void
And I'm not sold of schnieder, I'd rather they took tanev and lack from Vancouver.

Think it would cost a bit more, but if they could do that for Seguin, I'd absolutely do it.
If they have a chance at Seguin, the #6 would have to be in play. |
