What's going to be real interesting to see. Is if the players who were brought out, sign at a discounted price, due to already seeing a lot of money going forward. Or will they just act like a normal Free Agent. And go for market value.
- MJL

Agreed - I think they will likely look for comfort and right role first with $ taking a slight back seat

i know everyone is fawning over Hinkie right now, but to be fair, homer pretty much pulled a similar type move with the carter/richards rapture...

I always lean towards that side in thinking that's what will happen. We'll see.

I already politely informed mine what this weekend is. She rolled her eyes, smiled, and said "you're lucky to have me around when you do 48 straight hours of hockey. What do you want for dinner?"

That's how you know you married well, boys and girls.

I stated that the other night, and was told that was inaccurate.

Prediction. Flyers trade Cobourn to the Oilers for their 2 2nd round picks. We use one of them to move up and take one of the top big boy Dmen. With Cobourns money off the books we try and blow away Vincent Lecavlier and Kris Letang. Just a gut feeling. With the other 2 second round picks we try and move up to take another top rated Dman. We will sign a cheaper winger like Stalberg. We would have 14 million in cap space. 7 for LEtang, 6 for Lecavlier and a few more million for a winger. After we LTIR we would be able to offer Stalberg 5 million per. Mason will be ur goalie.

Yea, we went over this. To me the situations are apples and oranges at best. Maybe apples and broccoli.

Just wish the flyers organizational would show more patience, not feel the need to make the playoffs at all cost.

I don't see getting Letang for 7. If he won't take that in Pittsburgh, why would he take it here?

Lecavalier for 6? Only for 1 year, I hope. We still have G, BSchenn, and Coots to resign next offseason, and I'm not sure if the 6 mil coming off the books from Timonen next offseason will be enough. If it is, then giddy up.

trade the face/faces of the team for quality youth and a high draft pick.

not sure how that's completely different.

Vinny will get minimally 3 yrs/15

And if he get's that. With his buyout money. He'll be making over 9M a year.

If he gets over $7 million, PK Subban who actually won the norris will one happy player when he looks for a new deal after next season.

Just curious, you guys think its worth it to include Coburn to move up 5 slots or so in the draft? Coburn is a top 4 damn on just about every team in the league. He is in his prime, and I always thought got a bad rap. I think the system has a lot to do with the defensive issues with the Flyers, not so much the players. You will still get a potentially great player at 11, why not just stay there. I don't know if I would move Coburn.

He won't -- Kris Letang isn't messing around with his money. I think that's been clear for a while now.

I keep reading this, and it's hard to understand. Do you wish the Flyers would not attempt to make their team better?
