What if Staal isn't right? Then you go into the season with Mac, Girardi, Moore, Stralman and ... You comfortable with that? And with DZ's salary level, you won't be able to find a suitable replacement in the market. Not to mention, Moore was a healthy scratch for the Jackets last year. I really like the kid, but he will have his struggles just like any young defensemen. And then the fanbase will get on him.
And Mantha is a bit of a dog. A talented one, but a dog nonetheless. - Pete V
i'm one of the people who believes staal will be ready, he was very positive on locker clean out day |

I hope so & I've talked about this the last week or so, but I have serious doubts. Sure he & the organization will say the right things, they did that 2 years ago with Staal's concussion saga too. |

I definitely believe Del Zotto has a lot more trade value than most Ranger fans believe.

My Uncle who taught me the hockey bible & got me into the Rangers as a kid had season tix in the late 70s & early 80s, he said the venom towards Barry Beck was the worst, everyone hated the guy. |

A bit surprised we haven't seen some trade action. Multiple ongoing discussions. Sense is the first deal may open the flood gates. Hope so. |

This board went from optimism to shear mob scene, thanks Sather
Unless thy get Hank to sign really soon this season is going to be a mess, the bottom six aside from Dorsett and the possibility of Miller,Lindberg and Fast is awful, Pyatt and Asham are untradable dead weight, Boyle is maybe tradable but who wants a 6'7" forward who has the strength of a player thats 5'7"
Really looking bleek going into the draft, I hope Sather has something up his sleeve, trading Miller better not be it |

I think he's top 4 material when his head is outside of his a ss, so he could e the start of a package for he #5 pick, maybe include Thomas or St. Croix? |

I would like to see Thomas & St. Croix given a shot to make the team, IF we could get rid of the dead weight like I said with Asham, Pyatt, Boyle, even if we give any of them away. Powe I would keep as a 4th liner or extra body in street clothes.
Bottom line is Sather needs to do some tinkering here, AV can work so much magic with these forwards. |

As per @DarrenDreger, VAN G Cory Schneider is in play and EDM is reportedly one of the teams interested.
so, the Canucks may be trading Schneider and keeping Luongo.

NHL UPDATE - Source reports New Jersey Devils and Anaheim Ducks involved in trade talks centered around Bobby Ryan.
Now this is just ridiculous , the Devils have one of the shallowest prospect pools in the league, they're picking teams out of a hat at this point |
