I woke up this morning hoping it was all a bad dream. Guess not. I would love someone in the Ranger organization offer a justification for this totally unsupportable move. I have nothing against Brad Richards, I was at the front of the line whooping it up the day he signed. But, now 2 years removed from that signing he would need to win the cup, and be named Conn Symthe winner just for the club to break even. Ok, that would be great, but then he still would need to be bought out due to the new CBA restrictions. Well, maybe Graves will make a comeback and sign for a year to play on the left side. Even at his age he would give us something we could use this season. Hey, nothing else they've done this week makes any effin sense.

I feel like everyone is going to be disappointed by the lack of Ranger activity today.

I would love a million moves like everyone else, but I don't see it.

I feel like one of a few teams that can't go to the buffet, this day is going to drag, I expected to wake up and see a trade had been made

I have always found Glen to be an expert on Thomas Hickey.

Larry Brooks ‏@NYP_Brooksie 10m

Edler primary point man in Van for Vigneault. NYR not in yet but likely to be involved.

How do you get involved in this when you dont have Stepan and McDonagh signed yet...

It better be MDZ, Pyatt and Boyle going the other way.

Plus hes a left hand shot.

Still time to buy out Richards, trade DZ+ for Edler and sign one of Vinny, Briere or somemone else

Carolina has 3 offers for the 5th pick and expects to have 5 or 6 trade options to consider. Decision likely just before first selection.

So, what offer will we make for the 5th pick? What impact will it have on the team if accepted by Carolina?

Draft Nichushkin, you have your 2nd (possibly 3rd depending on Kreiders progress) franchise scorer.

Or you can take #5 and trade up again to #4 and draft Barkov or Drouin.

While Carolina covets a top-4 blue-liner, am told the Canes are not interested in Alex Edler

Too bad it wasnt Falk and Clutterbuck... then maybe OLDSCHOOL might crack a smile... first since the Richards non-buy out decision.
