You think Lundqvist is gonna hang around while the kids develop? Speaking of Hank, what's he looking for? 8 years $8mil per? - OLDSCHOOL#6
Well he could get 8 years, 80 mil....gotta keep Richards healthy this year |

Theres nothing to wait for...
Even if we DID buyout Richards, what kind of moves could we have done to improve this team so drastically that it would make us cup contenders? Honestly, nothing short of getting a Geno or some mega star would do that for us. |

not sure if you guys saw this but pretty cool article:
http://www.hockeysfuture....-rangers-prospect-awards/
makes you a little excited for what the future holds. maybe we have a few more assets to throw around in deals than we thought. - rangerdanger94
We have plenty of prospects to dangle in front of teams.
The reason why Id rather have the #5 pick instead of Skinner is because Nichushkin is really damn good... and we arent going to be locked into a 5.75 million dollar contract that will put our backs against the wall. |

yea and if we ship off staal for the #5 pick that opens up around $3 mil in cap space that can be enough to resign clowe or a new guy like clarkson or bickell or ryder. |

Come on down Dylan McIlrath. If you have a defensemen ready to step up, could be a good move. Young defense but that is why you pay a goaltender 7 million per. |

Gotta give to get. Resign Eminger on the cheap, we survived without Staal for a year and a half. |

it could be contingent on a guy like mcilrath making the squad. everything i've read about this kid recently makes it seem like he'll be nhl ready very soon. i'm hoping he surprises us this year. |

Add an elite offensive player in the draft on an entry level deal and use the saved money to sign a serviceable vet on d. Carolina would never do it however. |

maybe they would but it would be a steep, steep price. can they say no to a crazy package like staal + fast + neives + 2 2013 3rds + 2014 1st + 2015 2nd |

Im not banking on McIlrath yet.
Id look at someone like Scott Hannan, a veteran whose been around and wont be an expensive pick up. Would be a very serviceable 6th/7th defenseman with Eminger. |

You would have to be insane to trade that much for the 5th pick. Plus with the Rangers looking to win this year, you really think they would trade Staal for a prospect? While the prospect could be great, a lot of if's to expect him to help win the cup this upcoming year. If they did trade Staal, it would be for an established player IMO |

Yea if we trade Staal, it will be for an established player.
If we trade for the #5 pick, it will be MDZ going the other way with a 1st rounder next year, and some combination of Fast, Bourque, Thomas, Nieves |

I still think its dumb for the Flyers to trade Coburn. He is a top 4 dman on almost every club in the league. I thought the Flyers needed help on D, why would they trade an established vet in his prime? |

They must want Rasmus Ristolainen in the draft, someone for Kimmo to mentor. |

Coburn is a lot just to trade up 4 or 5 slots in the draft. They will still get a potentially great player at 11. |
