It is a crazy unacceptable risk, but I'm bit going to blame Richards for it. All he can do is go score 75 points. He can't make organizational decisions.
This team with some small tweeks can win. - Pete V
i believe that to see my roster posted above, and if richards rebound it makes it even better |

I won't blame Richards, he can't help it if his game has fallen off due to father time. But I will blame management, they had such an easy get out of jail free card. |

Was Richards first season as a Ranger so spectacular? Even if he duplicates that is it worthy of his cap hit? - Chris Erwin
No but his playoffs was |

So cool when an otherwise throw all caution to the wind franchise decides to show fiscal restraint. The rest of the NHL is today. |

let's than hope it does not take 60 games to scratch him and use miller on his spot if he really is done, if we trade DZ for something like i mentioned earlier that fits our cap and resign clowe we'll be good even with richards cap hit, i actually don't believe he can have a huge rebound year, he looked done to me
if ,and thats a big if, we make that DZ for colborne and #21 pick our roster for next year if richards sucks would come down to:
kreider-stepan-cally
clowe-brassard-nash
hagelin-miller-colborne
jean(or other cheap call up)-boyle-dorsett
Mcd-girardi
moore-staal
mcilrath-stralman
hank
biron
draft mantha with the pick and he replaces clowe in a couple of years when his contract is up, its doable with the cap (colborne is only 1,1mil) if we trade pyatt, asham and powe for picks or prospects
will never happen but you can always dream - webleedblue
I want Mantha very much, but I doubt hes there at #21.
Kerby Rychel and Frederik Gauthier should get a look as well.
Or we could go back to the usual draft style and draft Michael McCarron, 6'5 225lbs kid in the US developmental league |

MIN officially put Clutterbuck on the trade block. I wish we could afford him. |

NHL UPDATE - Source reports New Jersey Devils and Anaheim Ducks involved in trade talks centered around Bobby Ryan.
Now this is just ridiculous , the Devils have one of the shallowest prospect pools in the league, they're picking teams out of a hat at this point - cranford93
henrique maybe? |

I cant believe the Rangers are shopping JT Miller... or atleast listening to offers on him. |

as you have said many times, there is a logjam of forwards. it is a bit ridiculous that he said it's because the rangers didn't think he lived up to expectations. i think he exceeded them as a 19 year old rookie! |

John Hayden.. Center.. 6'2, 220lbs.. USNTDP.. anyone want to bet that Gordie has him marked on his draft board?
They should also look at this goalie Marcus Hogberg. |

The question is... what kind of (frank)ing expectations do you have for a 19 year old kid?
The only way I can accept a trade of JT is if its part of a package to get the #5 pick, or an established, young top 6 player.
And the logjam is their own fault because they keep drafting, well... and keep bringing in these 4th line bums that dont work for us. |

Id rather try for Evander Kane.
Either way, we would have to find a way to include Pyatt and Powe/Asham to make it work financially to get under the cap.
And if we make this happen, we cant resign Clowe.
These trades are just too big for us to handle financially, were screwed in the "make a big trade" department. |

sign me up for evander kane or bobby ryan as our top 6 power forward over clowe
but yes, it is a pipedream. really want to see sather sign our RFAs already so we know exactly how little cap space we have left. |

This is how I would prefer to see it, but MZA will probably be playing in JT Millers spot on there.
Trade away MDZ, Pyatt and Asham. No resigning of Clowe. |

It's really bad if we can't keep him. Wasnt it Gretzky who called us the smurfs years ago? Well, somebody did and the term actully fits again

If we are to make a big move for a current top 6 player, then yea. However, if we start JT Miller over MZA, were not so small. |
