Kreider - Stepan - Nash
MZA - Brassard - Callahan
Hagelin - Richards - Miller
Pyatt - Boyle - Dorsett
Powe/Asham

I guess it isn't terrible or to Charmin soft. Its Scott soft

I think Richards will be better with less ice time. So as the 3rd center it actully could be the perfect spot for him. He'll be the pp key hopefully.

You gotta let richards play 2nd line to see if he still has it... also you gotta play mza on the top line and put him with players which will put him in a position to be successful

Got to find a way to move some of that bottom 5 players.
- TPC

Well that is the size and jam of the team. We best be replacing it with the same thing. I still say that pyatt and Boyle were 2 of our better playoff players.

I agree on Boyle, but he makes alot for a 4th line center. They need to move some salary and Boyle has the most value, but it would be nice to keep him if possible.

Richards and brassard are very similar so it'll be like 2A and 2B. I'd like to see if Kreider could create some space for Nash out there. Nash was so bottled up in the playoffs. If you have another big and fast winger with him his time and space should be more available. That ot goal vs Boston was hopefully a sign of things to come

Yea I agree with Pete though, just to much salary to be 4th line/extra forward type players. You can keep some, but might need to move 1 or 2.

He's the perfect 4th liner center actully. Certainly makes to much but it is what it is.

Whoever the 4th line has on it, it needs to have a regular shift more often. Obviuosly it needs to be better in general. But these teams that roll 4 lines really do damage in alot of ways. Torts Achilles heel was his lack of ice time or over using his best players Our top guys were drained by the Boston series, even back to last year vs devils

lots of things.

a few bottom 6 guys, maybe a top 6 winger with size.

but yeah, i would say our biggest and foremost need is a true top 4 dman

honestly.. nash doesnt need much for him to get space.. hes pretty good at making space for himself... mza passing to him would put mza in a position to succeed and would give nash a good passer to feed him

It looks like we're going to be shopping in the bargain bin. Looking at the free agent list, defenseman wise I see Chris Summers from Phoenix who is a former 1st round pick only 25 yrs old, they say he's a good skater on hockey's future and in Portland AHL played primarily a punishing shut down D type role. The Rangers could use someome to play that type of role if Mcllrath is not ready. NHL salary was only around 800K. Maybe a change of scenery could help, still young for a Dman, with Phoenix having so many top D prospects it seems he was passed by.

Lapierre made 1,000,000 last year, maybe he would want to reunite with Vigneault and take a similar salary for 4th line.

Instead of skinner how about tlusty + for staal? He seemed to breakout this year. I thought he was a Lil bigger then he is.. and i figured I'd see how many rocks I get thrown at my head

The + could be Gleason or something. They get Boyle. Then trade DZ for wheeler. Sign a clitsome

Kreider-Stepan-Nash
Tlusty-Richards-Callahan
Hagelin-Brassard-wheeler
MZA-miller-pyatt

Mcd, girardi, Moore, stralman, Gleason, clitsome...mcilrath, eminger, whoever

Who's says its a quiet summer!!!

On the lightning thread it says TB shopping Malone. He's got some size, jam and can score, it's too bad he makes so much. I'd take Malone making in the 2.5 range per year. Not what he's making now.

Rangers have a few big guys in the minors. Maybe one of Kyle Jean 6'4 203 or Nick Palmeri 6'3 220 can make the team and provide some jam maybe some offense.

Can't believe Sather would bring back Richards without knowing he could keep, both Stephan and McD

Any possibility Sather goes to McD and Step and says let's do 1yr deals cheap to help the team out in the cap crunch we're in and I'll make it worth your while and signs them to multi yr deals in Jan 2014 a little above what he was planing on offering so it goes down as an extension when "supposedly" the cap is to rise for 2014-2015 season?

I personally would rather they both be locked up long term ASAP. Just was a thought, maybe Sather has something up his sleeve. I'm sure he knows this team needs some additions.

Dude, we all know how those negotiations will go. Sathers' gonna low-ball the hell out of both of them until Jeff Gorton swoops in and gets a perfectly fair deal for both sides done in like 2 seconds.
