I have to disagree about Letang lowering his trade value. Shero pulled off a deal for Sutter, Dumolien and the 8th overall pick for Staal a day after Staal said no to a 10 year $60M deal and basically said I will only go to the Hurricanes. Letang hasn't said anything about certain teams and there will still be a a heavy market for him if Shero is shopping him.

The point is you got smart assed with an Oiler comment so somebody threw it back in your face.

No one knows what's going to be required to get any deal done that's why they speculate. Phaneuf is a top pairing guy that eats tons of minutes but his return will be based, in part on how bad Nonis wants to trade him. If he doesn't want him in Toronto then expectations should be tempered.

Bruins only have 6 Cups, including one in last couple years...
Hawks only have 5 Cups, including two in last couple years...
Rangers only have 4 Cups...
So there is no guarantee that the Oilers would have that many more Cups...

Coburn would be a great pick up for the Oilers, depending on the price. As long as neither Klefbom, Marincin or any other legit prospect go the other way I'd be happy.

Coburn would be a good pick. Marcinin would not be as important if we had him (although both would be fun to watch together in 2 years). I think he is a possibility for us. I like how Philly is dumping cap space to get under but Eklund still has them as a favorite for guys like Vinny. I expect Calgary to put in a high offer for Vinny. That would make the Tanguay trade make some sense. Plus they like to overpay. Not saying they will get him but I think that is their target.
