Vancouver can't trade him without his permission, but they can waive him and ave another team grab him.

Lu can refuse to report, and the other team can suspend him. They can then agree to void the contract, making Lu a free agent.

So it is possible...

Actually TO offered Gardiner, Kadri, Bozak and a 1st, which after last year, looks like it may be fair value for Lack or Loungo as long as the leafs retain half of Bozaks caphit. But a year ago, Vancouver would have got robbed blind to take all those spare parts for the worlds second best goalie.

Biggest mistake ownership made was not firing Gillis.
Jim Nill would have righted this ship around and in 2 years have this team contending again. If they want to keep Lu go frickin ahead.

Trade Schneider for oilers 7th pick and Gagner.

Take that 7th pick and Edler to Florida and draft Jones.

Right there you get your stud defenseman for 10 years and your 3rd line center.
