Lets assume we could get a package of Coutourier and Read for Schneider. That helps the goal depleted roster a lot. Yes I agree Schneider along with his contract is a better situation in net for the canucks. But when you weight how it affects the rest of our roster you have to consider it IMO.

Yes of course but Lu isn't staying he isn't happy. A goalie who isn't happy is a horrible goalie. So you need to keep CS who is happy as are we to have him or have a back up plan. There are goalies available. I love Lack but I don't know how ready he is.

Who is out there that is going to really help this team win a cup in the next two years? The list is small.... Or do you guys think there is a bigger deal out there (not Letang)?

We need a 4th line.

This is why I say trading CS might be a better option.

Schneider for Coutourier and Read

Edler for Sbisa, K Palmieri and M Beleskey

This would be a good trade for both teams. But I don't think Luongo will come back after this fiasco although he has said he just wants to be the starter. But there are some OK goalies on the market.

Lu has never said that. He wants to be a starter. Can't blame him.

Yes they do need a 4th line........ and a 2/3 of 3rd line and for that matter a 2nd line winger but do you resign Lapierre or go after a guy like Dustin Penner (Yikes) for a third line option. I don't know I just don't see a lot of UFA's that would improve the Canucks that come at a reasonable price. I think at the end of the day they need to bight the bullet and trade a piece or two of the core.

I have been searching for a scenario where both goalies are moved to improve our top 2 lines and still keep us strong in net. I have nothing. I call it being realistic and if anyone can prove me otherwise please...

The next 6 or 7 days is going to be such a cluster-f*ck with compliance buy-outs, the draft & then free agency that most anything can happen. I'm just going to hunker down and watch the fecal matter fly. Next Saturday HockeyBuzz will combust due to the super-nova sh^t storm of comments, pontificating, summarizing & trolling.

I think the Panthers would claim him if waived
- Bieksa#3

Sorry, you think the panthers would claim him and take the contract on? As opposed to waiting till he is bought out and signing him cheaper because that's where lu wants to be

He didnt say that letang has no interest whatsoever signing with the leafs. He said the leafs and other teams have never been discussed. I know its semantics, but leafs get a bad enough rap without bending the truth

No, not trolling. Im just astounded that there are some who dont think about the whole scenario.I assumed you guys would know the ins and outs (surely reported in your local news) ofthe luongo contract. It would make absolutely no sense whatsoever for a team to claim him, when they can wait till noon the next day to offer him a contract. There are some van fans and gillis that are like the captain going down with the ship, and they will just not be told otherwise. This has been discussed for over a year, and here we are, right before it happens and there are some that still won't believe it will happen. Not trolling.
