The better version who had the same amount of points in 7 more games, a worse +/-, fewer takeaways, more giveaways, and played 2 fewer minutes a game???

Nope. When you see every other teams fans out there saying thanks but no thanks...it should tell you something.

I have not seen more than a hand full of guys saying they would want him at that price.

I just don't get it. There are plenty of guys in this league with the skill set to get those same #s or even better when put on the ice with that kind of talent.

Watching him every game for the past few years, he will be just as good offensively with another team. He is a better skater then 99% of the people in the NHL, and has moves most forwards don't have.

Actually, I was talking about the better version who doesn't play on a stacked team headlined by the two best players in the world.

Hope he's proud that he only won it because Letang missed 25% of the season, but still put up better numbers.

You know Letang gets to play with arguably 2 of the best playmakers in the league on a nightly basis, right?

Habs #1 line looks to be Briere, Gionta, Plekanec! Makes a lot of sense.

Ah....

Now I understand....you are a 40 year old Virgin living in your mom's basement with a bank of gaming monitors in front of you.

Just what the hell has this genius maverick GM done for you?

That's 44, thank you very much.

The only team I think would jump to give him that much. But would Pitt actually trade him there?

And Subban got 70% of his points when his team was up a man....your point???

yes, he benefits from playing with Sid and Geno, but for a defenseman to average over a point per game, not many d-men can do that.

The people who think Letang stops getting points when he isn't with Geno and Sid are utter fools. He will get his points regardless where he goes.

What could go wrong with an 8 year contract? I know a guy with 9 years left with a cap hit of 3M less than Letang's refusal. MMG will not pursue Letang.

My point is, precious few GMs would take Letang over PK at this point. That's not to say Letang isn't an elite defenseman, but PK's better.

I love Pens fans. Pretend hockey doesn't exist from 1998-2005, have a draft rigged to sell tickets, and extort a publicly funded arena. My god, the passion.

I'm not saying he is bad, but I don't think he is in anyways one of the elite offensive dmen in the league at this point.

And of course his point totals would drop on other teams. Most notably assists. How many of those assists are to one of Pitt's insanely talented guys?

I think he's worth 5 million perhaps, but not more. And that to me is only if you are DESPERATE for a dmen with that skill set.

For those saying Philly...didn't they just sign Streit?

He won it because that guy in Ottawa got injured for most of the year.

I doubt very much if Miller goes to Pittsburgh....Their goaltending is in solid shape more so than ours

Eklund fails to realize that the Kings have cap issues. How the hell can they sign Igninla when they can't even resign their own players?????

Once again, dude makes no sense.

AS PER TSN: Bettman puts a July 2nd deadline of the city of Glendale to bend over and re-enact the scene from Deliverance. (maybe the second part is not per tsn)

Actually I think it is a little insulting for Bettman to say that it will be Glendale's fault.

Also, I don't think this was widely reported but before the Canucks moved their team to New York, they put in a application to go to the Key Arena in Seattle but were denied with the very unusual explanation that another NHL team, although, not named and not confirmed, in now under contract (deposit). Obviously it is the NHL and the Coyotes.

I do also think it is a quite poor that he would do this on the long weekend, under the excitement of the draft and free agents and buyout, almost to get lost in the noise of the NHL and hope no one looks at this too seriously.

Be prepared to hear that Bettman bettered the NHL and saved the franchise by moving it and he is, after all is said and done, a hero.
