No one is watching his back, I don't think many d-men like getting killed behind their own net, and his teams front office refuses to bring in guys that will keep him safe. If thats how it is I would want to get paid before my career gets ended too

You have yet to sign Perron- as well dont forget the cash your going to have to give AP... thats if he is not offersheeted for max... that kid is a stud and will be for ages... not to mention all your other RFAs... could be tighter than you think
- saskoil21

Perron is signed long term. We already signed Shatty and Berglund. Only important RFA's left are Stewart and Petro.

I'm guessing you mean Letang.

Letang for 1st/Gorges/Collberg seems about right. I know MTL is not giving up both Gorges and Gallagher.

- cap1681

Why would we trade for Letang when we already have the better version of him?

Because no other team has done that before. Penguins had 4 bad seasons, because of financial problems and an aging arena.

Concussions and lower body injuries every year and no one stands up for him allowing it to continue happening... you sure? There are more factors than I'm good so pay me sometimes.

Can't imagine Anaheim wouldn't be interested in Vinny at that price. but Ek has such a great track record that I believe him.
- duxcup07

Yeah, Anaheim is losing Koivu, Selanne and possibly Ryan, and yet every blog about free agents, the only teams interested are Toronto, Buffalo, LA, Pittsburg..
.Do Anaheim fans just not get you enough hits with the fake rumours?

My calculations already include Corrado. Sauve and Shroeder are both RFA's that you still would need to sign.

And if you expect Jensen, Gaunce, Sauve to be the saviors then Vancouver will be missing the playoffs next year.

- Iggysbff

Vancouver fans completely understand that the team has peaked and we need a few years of matching our top guys with the drafts. Yes, it will bounce us down the depth chart and most likely put us out of the playoffs for a year or two, but that's what happens.

Again you assume way too much. No where did I say any of these guys will be saviours. They will simply fill out the roster and learn on the job rather than on the farm.

It's like pissing in the wind with you. You read something, come up with an alternative interpretation or read into it what you think will be a "zinger" and retort.

Stay away from the dark side. These are not the droids you are looking for. They can go. Move Along.

The better version who had the same amount of points in 7 more games, a worse +/-, fewer takeaways, more giveaways, and played 2 fewer minutes a game???

Absolutely. I'm looking forward to seeing what the Isles will do once they move to Brooklyn and start spending towards the cap.

And Booth also does not count on the cap while on "holiday"

We have 47 Million in Cap room left???? (I'll just let that one slide)

I am very happy with my knowledge of the situation. Just by moving Edler, you solve the entire imaginary problem.

- Beatle_john

You only solve it if you get nothing in return. They'll take back salary in a trade for Edler for sure. You can't simply spend the temporary cap savings experienced with Booth on the LTIR as he'll come back.

Umm... do you not see him listing Blues as in on players? Obviously not EVERY team is listed because he expects it to get him hits...

- Jay Uller

Yes... they could. They will not though. I think I have been pretty clear on that. And yes, it would be easy. Elder via trade, Lou via a circus cannon and Ballard via strapping a led brick to his ankle and dropping him in the pacific.

They have move than enough on the farm to replace these guys plus Max and Raymond and Roy.

I am not saying they would be as good for doing such a thing, but, like I said on page 2... it is a possibility. Especially with a GM who considers himself a genius and a maverick.

I don't see him being worth more than 5-6 mill, anything north of that is crazy. Kaberle got a lot of assists too. It's not as difficult when your riding shotgun to a couple of the best forwards in the league.

Nope. He's good, but I thought $7 mil per was a huge over-payment and then he turns it down?

By the way, I do not like him as he is a little to inconsistent, but I woundn't trade Edler. I think Tortarella will make him his "project guy." Maybe he is too young to be judged so harshly.

And as for hypothetical things in return, a package of picks and a promising farm player would do.

I just don't get it. There are plenty of guys in this league with the skill set to get those same #s or even better when put on the ice with that kind of talent.

Nope. When you see every other teams fans out there saying thanks but no thanks...it should tell you something.

I have not seen more than a hand full of guys saying they would want him at that price.
