They have zero cap room and 17 guys signed. So even if they buyout 2 of Booth Ballard or Lou they will then have 8.5-10 mill left to sign another 8 guys. Yup. They are going to fit Vinny into it! - Iggysbff
Again... you are a tool box... no where did I say they were in on Vinny. |

So the Leafs who need a center aren't oin on Lecavalier. They actially made a trade for him which was vetoed by the nhl but ek you haven't heard any info about the leafs being in on Lecavalier. |

Funny because yesterday he was quoted as saying he wants a deal that would bring him to retirement. Guessing EK knows more about this than Lecavalier does. - willey101

Maybe Edmonton can go sign some more embryos and call yourself a team. |

Won is a very loose term. - gobluenotes
If any draft was ever rigged it was that one. In this corner we have a team on the verge of bankruptcy but with a very popular ex-player now owner. In the other corner we have a team who's located on the WEST COAST and we can't have the future face of the league playing out there because the games come on SOOO LATE and no one would see him. Amazing how that worked out. |

They were in the Eastern Conference finals in 2001, made the playoffs from 90-91 to 00-01. 01 was when the team filed for bankruptcy, traded all their talent (Jagr for Kris Beech!!!). |

After Canucks use they buy outs they have easy option to fill out the roster...
Defence
Yann Sauve - will get a strong look at
Frank Corrado - Replaced Booth in a heartbeat -- already done
Offence
Jordan Schroeder - played most of last year, replaces Booth
Nicklas Jensen - Replaces Raymond
Brendan Gaunce replaced Roy
This is not Rocket science.
Also, I do not think they are in on Vinny as I believe he has a reputation with Torts. But it is not that they are hamstrung by dollars - Beatle_john
My calculations already include Corrado. Sauve and Shroeder are both RFA's that you still would need to sign.
And if you expect Jensen, Gaunce, Sauve to be the saviors then Vancouver will be missing the playoffs next year. |

And again, you are out to lunch. You may not have said that he would be going there, but you certainly implied that Vancouver had the cap room to fit him. Newsflash, an NHL roster is 22 or 23 players. You currently have 17 signed with $47,000 cap room left. You can't buy Booth out cuz he is injured. Even if you buy out Lu and Ballard that leaves roughly 10 million to sign 8 players to ice a full roster. You gonna waste 5 of that on one player. Maybe you should take your own advice and do some research before you talk.

5 million on a 1-year deal... Blues and Vinny would be a great fit.
He would be getting lots of offensive zone starts, Perron on one wing and either Stewart or Tarasenko on the other... letting Steen-Backes-Oshie line handle all the toughest defensive assignments... couple of great offensive defensman passing him the puck... 2-way system similar to what he has played previously... and a really solid chance at a Stanley Cup. |

Booth is hurt and cannot be bought out, he will go on LTIR and Gillman will work his magic - malcohol
Van's cap problems are crazy bad. They aren't adding the most sought after UFA. They have to replace players on their back 6 and they have no cap room. TSN suggested that Booth was coming back and would need the compliance buyout (article yesterday or the day before - easy to find). Either way Van needs to fill Ballard's and Booths spot. Plus Maxim and the others that left. Buying 2 out will give them the money to put together a full team. They aren't going on a shopping spree. You will see. |

And Booth also does not count on the cap while on "holiday"
We have 47 Million in Cap room left???? (I'll just let that one slide)
I am very happy with my knowledge of the situation. Just by moving Edler, you solve the entire imaginary problem.

Take your tin foil hat off and think about this. Hockey isn't as big on the west coast as it is out East. Wouldn't you want a huge draw on the west coast to drum up more interest? |

What is up in Pittsburgh if Staal and now Letang want out so badly. - Alexzanki
No one is watching his back, I don't think many d-men like getting killed behind their own net, and his teams front office refuses to bring in guys that will keep him safe. If thats how it is I would want to get paid before my career gets ended too |
