From a WPG point of view, more than 2 2nds. - dadeadhead
2nd Stafford and Gerbe for rights. Other 2nd for signed.
Thats more than 2 seconds. |

Would anyone have interest of Sending 2 2nds to WPG for rights to Bogosian?
Granted it would be one 2013 second for the rights, and a 2014 second if he signs
Granted I have no idea what his value is. - ImThatGuy
i would do that.. |

If Hodgson isn't signed and ends up being traded Bolland wouldn't be a bad idea, or Ennis for that matter being traded that is. I read that Hodgsons dad was none too pleased when the Sabres drafted Grigorenko and Girgenson. Maybe he feels like he isn't in the Sabres long term plans...who know.
If one of those guys gets moved I wouldn't mind seeing a true shut down line of Ott Bolland and maybe Foligno. It would be a tough line to play against. Hell even Tropp there instead of Foligno if you want to give Foligno a shot at the top 6 - Stripes77
Hodgson will be signed to a long term deal. |

You know I love all you guys but boy, we need less jam band fluff in here, and more metal. - sambarugh
Um, no.
Metal us what you listen to when you're 15.

He appears snobbish if you ask me, overvaluing his one dimensional play. Good thing the cap space is there. Is he worth a 1st this year? - benny948
If we were offered a first this year for him I would have to think hard about it. It would probably be a later first but depending on when it went down if you could package picks to move up I would do it |

The Sabres are "dangling" Miller, Vanek and Stafford apparently. |

Define long term? More than 3 years is long term in my eyes and if he gets a 4 year 16 million deal it seems like too much in my eyes. However it could turn out to be a great deal. I just don't see him producing again like he did this year without Vanek and Pommer |

Good, he would be a great addition. I would still give him 1 yr of development. |

Eventually, he will have guys of their level on his wing again. Think about Horton and Armia in 2 yrs. |

If it's cheap, then great. I think the market leverage has to come from other teams, for the very reason you mention. I wouldn't personally be happy giving up much of anything of value, however, so it's likely he either stays put or someone offers more than I think would be prudent for the Sabres.
I could see your second point, though I'm not sure that's really all that hard to come by in the NHL. - nfph
Who else fits that cup winning veteran center that can handle tough minutes that may be available? Or, are you willing to give that role to the youngsters (Girgensons or Larsson)? |

I went back and watched the Beyond Blue & Golds...
man I really like a lot of our players...
I didn't remember that Kaleta did the rookie SEALs training.. that was completely voluntary of him. Hodgson and Foligno were borderline.
Watching the blurps about Ott and Weber too... I don't want to see them guys go.
I found it interesting that Darcy mentioned that Grigo was their #1 target for the draft last season and that he was offered 5th overall and 35th for our 12th and 21st overall. Who was 5th overall last year? |

He was on pace for like 65 points this past season. He did benefit from playing with Pommer for half the year and Vanek for the first 11 games.. then Vanek went MIA...
I say that Hodgson needs a bridge deal of like 3.5M for 3 years. |

You don't take a dman at 8th overall... and even if we did... I'd take Risto over Nurse. |
