You know I love all you guys but boy, we need less jam band fluff in here, and more metal.

someone mentioned that he turned down Buffalo's first offer....

I would imagine he should be in the 3.25-4M range on a 2-4 year deal.

- JVince11

I wouldn't want to give him more than 3 mil per. He reaped the benefits of Vanek and Pommer. I'd go 2 years 6 mil or maybe 3 years 9.5 mil. He is looking for big money. He hasn't earned it yet IMO

If Hodgson isn't signed and ends up being traded Bolland wouldn't be a bad idea, or Ennis for that matter being traded that is. I read that Hodgsons dad was none too pleased when the Sabres drafted Grigorenko and Girgenson. Maybe he feels like he isn't in the Sabres long term plans...who know.

If one of those guys gets moved I wouldn't mind seeing a true shut down line of Ott Bolland and maybe Foligno. It would be a tough line to play against. Hell even Tropp there instead of Foligno if you want to give Foligno a shot at the top 6

- Stripes77

Maybe if his son played a 200 ft game, then he would't have to worry about who the Sabres are drafting. Who cares what a players dad thinks? I don't think that Darcy does. Do you think that we will still resign CoHo?

Well his dad is calling the shots. I don't think he is his agent but he is pulling the strings as to what Cody gets. I really don't know at this point

Someone posted a few weeks ago 4 yrs 3.7 per someone close to the situation.

If true and he rejected it, this could get ugly.

Sabres have 12 mil in cap space after Weber deal. Next year we have many contracts up. if Miller and Van are gone and same with Stafford and Leino we have next to no one worth any major cap besides myers and ehroff.

could be realy good to go spend a lot of money with hopefully a new GM

I feel like the lists are always big a year before. In 12 months time that list will be more than 60% shorter.

"Florida, Buffalo, Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary have all enquired about Bolland. "

Good source.

Cant see him making any sense in Buffalo. We need to keep adding youth, not trading it away for third line players.

You know that with contract extensions and pre-July 1st trades that list will be cut by half or more.

At this point he is a very one dimensional player and any more than 4mil per is over payment. If they need to put him in a trade in order to get higher or more picks in round 1 then so be it!

That is unusual. at least his trade value went up this season. The Sabres may have to throw some money at Ribeiro or Bozak, or Ennis will be the 1C, yikes.

Bolland would be an awesome addition! He could be our 3c this year and transition into a 3/4c in our future bottom 6 which would include: Bolland, Foligno, Girgensons, Larsson, Ott and Tropp/Kaleta. That's one hell of a bottom-6

I dont think it would take too much. I see it as Chicago almost needs to trade him to give them some room. If they ask to much, he stays and eats valuable cap space this season.

Forgot to mention I think hes exactly what we need during a rebuild. Solid cup winning veteran center that can handle tough minutes and allow our younger guys to develop.

- theblueandgold

If it's cheap, then great. I think the market leverage has to come from other teams, for the very reason you mention. I wouldn't personally be happy giving up much of anything of value, however, so it's likely he either stays put or someone offers more than I think would be prudent for the Sabres.

I could see your second point, though I'm not sure that's really all that hard to come by in the NHL.

oh yea.. I know that... but still when you look at that list... if half of those guys are still UFAs.... it is still better than this year's list.

Would anyone have interest of Sending 2 2nds to WPG for rights to Bogosian?

Granted it would be one 2013 second for the rights, and a 2014 second if he signs

Granted I have no idea what his value is.

Meh by the time this team was ready to compete, he would most likely be gone, IMO. Makes little sense.

From a WPG point of view, more than 2 2nds.

Not really when Timmy Kennedy went down his dad was the one that wanted to go to arbitration. It happens alot. Especially in the early stages of someone's career

He appears snobbish if you ask me, overvaluing his one dimensional play. Good thing the cap space is there. Is he worth a 1st this year?

2 years? He would be a good stop-gap for now and would provide real good leadership and veteran presence.
