Hodgson, Ott, Weber, and Flynn
that is the list of players on the Sabres that showed up consistently all season and played with their hearts on their sleeves. - JVince11
I liked Ennis too
He produced pretty well even though he didn't have any linemates that helped him out at all
And Mathew Collier pointed out that advanced stats actually showed he was better defensively than a lot of ppl think
He's gonna be a pretty good player too IMO,
Although I do see him moving back to the wing at some point
Also,
Porter, Kaleta, Enroth (after a rough start), and Sekera was ok for the most part... And Ehrhoff was pretty good overall too |

well if the Vanek lovers can say that he was a PPG player even though he scored 28 points in his first like 11 games and then only 17 the rest of the season then don't attack Hodgson for his numbers..
thats not fair.. - JVince11
I'm not sure many attack Hodgson. A few think he should be traded. Which is just silly talk.
As for PPG stats. No one is a PPG if they fail to score in every game they play. That includes every hockey player ever. |

Sure, and by not signing him during the season too. Not really Vanek's fault thought.
Darcy should have been fired after/during that offseason - RynoBull
They tried, his agent said no thanks.
The agent, Quinn, and Darcy all said that at the time.
While they are all liars, when all three say the same thing more than likely they are telling the truth. |

EK mentioned Hemsky to Buffalo and maybe, maybe Letang to Buffalo, Miller to Pitt. I want no part of Letang or Hemsky. |

Ennis is trade bait to me... I think that 55 points is his ceiling every year..
he can only get to that playing center.. but on this team right now with Hodgson, Grigorekno, Girgensons, Larsson, and Kea.. he doesn't have a future staying at center.
at wing he is like a 35-40 point a season guy at MAX. |

If I were Pegula,
I'd hire Roberts to run the offseason training program for all the young kids!
Guys that work out w him show year to year improvement
Whatever he does works - jdfitz77
Roberts program is more than working out, it's teaching how to eat the right things, how to exercise both in season and off season, it's a total lifestyle change
the reason the people who do it suceed is because they are dedicated to making a change/suceeding before they enter the program , if they forced it on the players ( like Pegula giving Roberts a bunch of money to train the Sabres) it wouldn't take with most of them b/c they haven't made the committment to change thier habits
IMO of course |

Letang turned down 7M a year from Pitt for 8 years..
I don't want him here either. |

Kea is a few years away but I get your point. I really do think one of Ennis or Hodgson will be dealt in the next year or next offseason |

Until anyone of those kids proves the can play in the NHL (none of them have) Ennis has a job for at least a few years on this team. I thin khis ceiling is 60-70. He coudl be as productive as pommer but tougher. |

I'd move Ennis before Hodgson.
That said, as I've noted on many occasion's no player on this team or in this organization has done anything to warrant "untouchable". Any and all options to get this team in line to win the Stanley Cup should be explored. |

The Sabres could have taken Vanek to arbitration and no one could have offer sheeted him
instead they just shot thier mouth off about matching any offer |
|
|

Well that's just like your opinion man. I'm not going to pretend to be able to evaluate goalies (who are the least predictable prospects) but I do know that the Sabres don't have a sure fire successor to Miller in the pipeline, so I would understand the logic behind the pick. Forwards are fun and exciting to draft, but, when you are where the Sabres are, you pick the highest guy on your board every pick. Even if that's D at 8 and D at 16. Load up on talent. - truthbluth
I would have no problem going D and D (maybe Nurse and Pulock), i just dont like taking goalies in the first round. They just take so long to develop that where they are when theyre 18 just doesnt matter as much as the other positions. |

Every team does that..
STL did it just like a week ago... Colorado said it about ROR and NSH said it about Weber.
it is no new thing.. it just makes the GMs job easier.. he doesn't have ot get them to sign his deal. |

No to Hemsky as well
Why Letang?
He's not the best in his own end, but I think that get overblown a little...
He's still young enough that he's going to improve in that area as well
Remember how long it took Campbell?
It's not like Letang is always bad in his own zone,
He just has lapses...
I think that can be cleaned up
But it's also gonna cost a lot for a defenseman that's much more known for his offense, so I guess I see why some wouldn't want him
I bet he'd help our PP a lot though |

8 years 56 mil is 7 mil per.
If what was rumored is correct.
Gunner has it that Letang countered with 8 years 62 mil or 7.75 per with a full NTC. |

Um, no.
Metal us what you listen to when you're 15.
Jam bands = music
Metal = noise - Pairo11
Stop being so closed-minded.
Metal is not noise. There are so many great musicians in metal, and so many sub-genres of it, that there's something for everybody.
It's like me saying that only drug addicts listen to jam bands, and it's just 16 guys playing 16 different things at once and just noodling around on the guitar.
