Where would we put him?
- 2raven2

No where. We don't need anymore of his kind around these parts

Told this could be year Eric Nystrom comes to one of the NY-NJ locals. Plenty of interest and he'll get multi-year deal.

Don't need him... he had his chance a few years ago!!!

Why on earth would Van deal Luongo for DiPietro? Moronic! They would much rather buy him out then acquire 'that'.

Because buying out DP is cheaper then buying out Luongo.

SO... if Van can buy Lou out for lets just say $20.00 but they could
buy out DP for 18.00, they are saving some money.. it doesn't matter the who, it matters the amount.

Plus if they can trade him to say the Islanders for DP & a fourth, they saved money and gained a fourth for something they were buying out.

I don't think he will get traded.. but that's the logic behind it.

Then we use him for a year or two then buy him out.

He is a high energy checking forward with the ability to chip in the odd goal. He's a big body that hits... but again.. we have that.. in fact we have a better version of him, better hands, better hockey sense & younger. I dont see where Eric fits on this team at all.

The buyout window is this off season & next, so we would only be able to use him for 1 season & then buy Lou out next preseason.

Him and his father didn't want him here before, fack him.

The kid has some stones. Now he wants to play for the team? Isles do not need him. Snow should not waste time on minor moves like this anyway.

We’ve struck gold with 1/4 of our 15th overall. May Bossy be with us tomorrow.

Mike Smith is off the market, before it even started. Resigned for six years in Phoenix

Not to say I told you so, but this from Larry Brooks this morning:

So the Devils will have new ownership within the foreseeable future, news first broken two weeks ago by our colleague on The Post’s business pages, Josh Kosman, who exposed the franchise’s financial woes.

Following Friday’s report by Forbes that the Jeff Vanderbeek ownership had such serious cash-flow problems that it missed or was late with payments that required league intervention to remedy, Slap Shots has confirmed that it took several weeks for a number of players to receive their final payroll checks of the season.

The NHLPA, rather than file default claims that could have resulted in the unidentified players becoming free agents, worked with the NHL to give all parties time to deal with the issue.

I'm starting to think my friend was right. Don't be surprised to see us become part of the Brooklyn empire sooner, rather than later. Wang isn't this stupid, but I'm sure he's tired of all the cr*p at this point. The trick is going to be compensating him in some way for the losses, which I'm guessing is why he supposedly "hired" someone in regards to the deal...it's probably better to let someone else do all that math....

PS- the next Devils owner better have A LOT of money to pi$$ away, especially after we move to Brooklyn. Martin Brodeur is the ONLY reason they've been second fiddle all these years. If they're cr*p, the Rangers won't be the only metro area team blowing them out of the water.

That NJ was literally broke, and we are for sale. I have a friend who works for a team (not local) who told me that a while back. It looks like he was at least half right.
