I'm sure the Pens would be willing to take back the following :
To Pittsburgh:
Two 1st Round Picks
One 2nd Round Pick
To Toronto:
Kris Letang
Leaf's fans, doesn't that sound like a great idea? What could go wrong? - Sammy Van Hagar
We could miss out on a young center who has attitude issues, hasnt developed into the new Yzerman that everone thought he would be, and only cares about hooking up with puck bunnies |

Kessel>Any Oiler
What the Oilers have is a team full of prospects that have been mismanaged and who have underperformed. Now STFU about the Leafs and go discuss Letang on the Oilers blogs - bigd242

Jake Gardner is no where as good as Justin Shultz will be and I'm a leaf fan. Oilers got lucky landing him. - Snagglepuss
Schultz has as much D as Pittsburgh goals against Boston in the ECF. |

maybe your not but the point im making is your fan base is just as delusional if not even more than ours is... my personal favorite from this site is in my location... personal favorite from the radio station is "well ottawa is looking for a defenceman and we need a centre so how about souray for spezza" - DarcyTucker16
Yes some are delusional, I wouldn't say the oilers fan base is more so than the leafs, but I wouldn't say the leafs fan base is more delusional than the oilers either. Not hating on either fanbase here |

I don't see how Toronto and Edmonton fans can have a Richard measuring contest. Leafs made the playoffs for the first time in 9 years, Edmonto hasn't made playoffs since Pronger left. Both teams are on the rise, but have no real substance to go on atm.
Anyways.
As much as I'd like Letang, the money is best spent elsewhere. If we want a defenseman like Letang, I'd sooner go after a two way guy like Hamhuis in Vancouver or pay the price for OEL, which is likely similar to Letang's apparent asking price of a 1st, a Roster Player, and a good prospect. |

Hamhuis, while a solid stay at home dman whith some defensive upside, is in the wrong category as Letang. Carry on.
PS: we're probably arguing with a troll. he joined the site today /facepalm |

If we can sign him past next year if the leafs let bozak walk then i bet kessel walks - iceman67
really?
you honestly think he'll make a massive change to his career and personal life because his buddy, who he wouldn't be playing with on any other team, decided to get greedy?
Kessel's not a child, and he's not going anywhere (unless Leafs low-ball him).

Kessel has already said numerous times he want's to be with the Leafs for his career, just bolstering your comment. |

I agree. But letang's career d stats are actually relatively impressive minus the past 2 rounds of the playoffs. Everyone is forgetting about the big picture. I wouldn't mind a Hamhuis, but why settle for a dollar menu item (sorry this is a poor analogy as i don't consider hamhuis dollar menu, but it works), when you can have the deluxe? |

Letang is better defensively then our best defenceman though.... One bad series against a team if i'm not mistaken beat us and exposed our best defenceman and now all the Leafs fans are crying not to get him... give me a break. THE GUY IS A NORRIS FINALIST. |

Try making the playoffs first. - jbold
That's the problem with Leaf's Nation. They're biggest accomplishment since the 1960's is making the playoffs, and Leaf's Fans seem content with that. Well, I hope you enjoyed the playoffs this year, I know I enjoyed how it ended. At the end of the day, your team is still mediocre. And everybody outside of the GTA who's not a delusional Leaf's fan will tell you that.
In regards to the Oilers making the playoffs, that's coming.........but that's not the goal. Unlike the Leafs, the Oilers will be winning cups in a couple years. The Leafs will still be "making the playoffs".......maybe.......and Leafs Nation will remain satisfied with that. |
