considering everyone in the blog agreed with him... seems to me in the sample size thats the fan bases general consensus yes - DarcyTucker16
hahaha...nobody agrees with Clouts on Edm threads. |

And the Leafs fans overrate Jake Gardiner quite a bit. He's a good prospect, but he's proven nothing at the NHL level to this point. I don't necessarily agree with Cloutier, but it isn't the worst trade proposal I've ever heard.......The Kessel trade would be. - Sammy Van Hagar
Jake Gardner is no where as good as Justin Shultz will be and I'm a leaf fan. Oilers got lucky landing him. |

Kessel absolutely puts the effort in and has great speed for doing just that, but I don't believe he has the physical tools to be a dominating defensive player, as I said before. - Johannes19
no ones asking him to win the selke... but to say hes a defensive liablilty just isn't a true statement anymore |

LOL That proves your hockey knowledge, now doesn't it. - Sammy Van Hagar
What do I need knowledge for when i can just look at stats and standings and dumb draft picks. Why would they draft Nail Yakupov when Ryan Murray is going to be a stud defensively. Add him with Justin Schultz and you had your future top D pairing. Dubnyk is a joke, Edm would be better off with Bryzgalov. |

Agreed. When this far in Hemsky is still the Oilers best player...I almost wish they had an Olli Jokinen to make them look pedestrian |

Clouts i seem to think is always drunk, i take no regard to what he says... or he's really a dog in a person suit or something...hire scooby doo |

hey man the proof is there... want me to start quoting?
not too mention i live in edmonton... so i hear all the radio shows and poop with people calling in offering horcoff and hemsky for (insert top player here) because "the cap space works" - DarcyTucker16
It's true a lot of Oiler fans over rate what their players are worth, but read through a few of the threads on cloutiers blogs and you'll see pretty quickly not everyone agrees with him btw I'm definitely not one to overate horcoff or hemsky.. |

And? I'm impressed that you've watched the last few drafts.......And? What's your point? - Sammy Van Hagar
well your argument is that weve made one playoff drive in the last while so my points are moot... by your own argument youvve just defeated yourself |

The Leafs made the first round of the playoffs....they didn't win the cup. And if you honestly think the Leafs did pretty good in the last trade (Kessel trade), you're (frank)ing delusional. It may seem good now because Seguin/Hamilton are still young, but give it a couple of seasons. This trade will only get worse for the Leafs as time goes on. - Sammy Van Hagar
as time goes on and Kessel actually enters his prime? you know, cause he's not there yet - he's still getting better.

Hope you enjoy those rusty cups that were won before most Leafs fans (likely you) were even born, when there was only six teams in the league. Yeah, you enjoy those cups. We've got our own cups that are starting to rust to deal with. We're getting out the CLR to shine our cups up, as we'll be adding to our collection in the next couple of years. - Sammy Van Hagar

gardiner nor reilly are proven...give me the real deal any day. top 10 d-man in the league, playoff fail or not, hmm..30 teams, top 10..let me think about that one...yeah, in heartbeat for gardiner, reilly, or both, plus the 1st and kulemin likely (as much as i'd hate that part) All these can't play D arguments are coming from a small 1 year playoff sample. Calm the **** down people; players have streaks. Dude is a career PLUS FORTY-TWO. for those of you who don't recall, plus minus doesn't include pp, sh, or pk.
EDIT: OH AND WHAT'S THAT? HE'S A CAREER PLUS TWO IN THE PLAYOFFS IN 80 GAMES? 0.o....sounds like a terrible d-man to me - jerseyleaf
I agree somewhat but it sure helps when your playing with Crosby,Malkin and Neil to name a few |

Seriously, have you watched an Oiler's game over the past 2-3 years? Hemsky is no longer the best Oiler, hasn't been for a while. He's still talented, but he's been surpassed by the likes of Eberle, Hall, and Yakupov. Seriously, stop talking. |

If the Oilers won a cup before the Blue Jackets, I'd be shocked at this point until they get a real GM. |

I don't think he's a defensive liability, my main argument is that Letang is a more useful all around player not trying to diss Kessel |

maybe your not but the point im making is your fan base is just as delusional if not even more than ours is... my personal favorite from this site is in my location... personal favorite from the radio station is "well ottawa is looking for a defenceman and we need a centre so how about souray for spezza" |

Eberle is good. hall is pedestrian (ryan malone with a temper reminding of Sean Avery?) -- yakupov -- bust (yes, calling already)
If you drafted so well the last 29 years of failure, you would've had a cup like the leafs would. Neither has. Bottom line YOUR MVP OF THE LAST DECADE WAS DWAYNE ROLOSON |

Kessel>Any Oiler
What the Oilers have is a team full of prospects that have been mismanaged and who have underperformed. Now STFU about the Leafs and go discuss Letang on the Oilers blogs |

Yakupov is not that good. Oilers are too caught up in reliving the Gretzky era of 8 goals a game to realize the league is about defence and goaltending now. |

Fak that !!! $7/year for 8 years for someone who has had his noggin scrambled a couple of times. He could easily be the next Kariya or Lindros. Concussions aside he doesn't bring enough to the table to be worth that much $$$ for that length of time. I think nonis takes a pass on this one unless it's 3 years for $4-$5.5 |

yeah,he's brutal. He does make some good points on occassion. I agree that we are still a good year away from really making a push though. |
