Letang is a bona-fide #1 D, logs big minutes, plays physical, works hard in the defensive end and obviously brings production. Not to mention his skating allows him to break up plays that most other D couldn't. Not saying Kessel is bad, infact he's a great offensive forward but he's a little one dimensional. If I was building a team from the ground up, Letang over Kessel every time - Johannes19
Letang and Phaneuf would be a very mobile dynamic pairing |

Letang>Phaneuf any day of the week. If your paying 6.75 for Phaneuf, you telling me you wouldn't pay more for a better defenceman? |

I'm sure the Pens would be willing to take back the following :
To Pittsburgh:
Two 1st Round Picks
One 2nd Round Pick
To Toronto:
Kris Letang
Leaf's fans, doesn't that sound like a great idea? What could go wrong? - Sammy Van Hagar

New CBA. $6.75 would be fair but, I would pay more for Letang. |

I see your point, but gotta say, kessel is getting a lot better at being a two-way player. |

Hmm lets see ... SO FAR ... leafs have a player that has finished in the top 10 in NHL scoring 2 years in a row ... has scored 30+ goals in all his years with the team (and was on his way to that or more in the shortened lockout season) ... and the Bruins have Seguin who scored ONE goal in the playoffs and did jack all in the SCF ... and dougie hamilton who barely showed anything so far and played like 3 games in the playoffs ... lets not count chickens before they hatch bud |

Hopefully for you the Oilers trade for him then. Shouldn't your comments be on Cloutier's blog - bigd242
For the right price! |

Also, knocks on the Leafs as a bottom class team no longer work. the Leafs are a class team now, heading in the right direction. Wish I could say the same about most of these trolls aging teams! |

I know they didn't. I'm comparing what the lesser defenceman makes (Phaneuf) to what Letang should be making which is 7-7.25 Million. |

Agreed, Kessel is starting to show signs of life developing a defensive conscience, but he doesn't have the right tools to be a dominant defensive player and maintain 40+ goals |

well were doing pretty good in the last trade we did like that soooo....
you guys gonna get last again next year? |

The Oilers will trade Sam Gagner for him, but only if Pittsburgh throws someone else in. Gagner is an all world centre after all. Just ask Cloutier - westcoastleaf
I'll give you Gagner for Gardiner, Kessel, Bernier and 2 firsts |

He doesn't need to score 40 goals a season. Bozak should thank Kessel for the living he's making. How many 35-40 goal scorers can put up 40-50 assists? not many, Kessel is one of the most complete forwards offensively in hockey. |

The Leafs made the first round of the playoffs....they didn't win the cup. And if you honestly think the Leafs did pretty good in the last trade (Kessel trade), you're (frank)ing delusional. It may seem good now because Seguin/Hamilton are still young, but give it a couple of seasons. This trade will only get worse for the Leafs as time goes on. - Sammy Van Hagar

Wait, i'm pretty sure Seguin was a non factor in the leafs series (who am I kidding..Seguin = Alexander Daigle in that series) ...like literally...and 3 years in now. Kessel is still 25 and the better player...not getting this. While either has a chance to be better, why speculate until they're in the same position with ice time, experience and such? It's not going to add anything. |

What? Because I don't have a delusional bias of the Leafs, that means that I don't watch hockey? You're pretty smart. |

and give it a couple seasons and you guys will keep drafting forwards and still have no d and no goaltender... Ill gladly take playoffs over that thanks |
