Clouts, when will you stop using irrelavant players for trade proposals ?
You want Letang ? You must give one of those "untouchables" from yours. - WaterBoy

Letang said today he wants to be a Penguin and the Pens just offered him an 8 year deal. I bet they get him signed.
Besides I'm guessing Smid or Schultz would need to take Paajarvi's place. The Pens are win now not looking for prospects. Did you see the deadline deals?
- lloyd095[B]Eberle and Schultz might work.

Didn't they just sign him to an extention why would he be available? - Genev21
They did, and to a very cap friendly 5.5 per. Pitt would have to add a serious player(s) to steal him. |

Meh, I guess. Phaneuf is such a weird player. He doesnt scream Number one shut down guy, but he doesnt look out of place playing 25 minutes. I don't believe he's a PP QB, but can definitely run #2 PP. He's such a meh Number 1 dman that makes about 1 million too much. I'd take his doucheyness on the oilers for sure, especially if he only signed for 2-3 years while our D prospects develop. Which is what I personally see Tor doing with him..
Rielly is pretty damn solid, and so is Gardiner.
2 years from now:
Rielly-Dion
Gardiner- Gunnar is a very very solid top 4 IMO. ( if said prospects develop to their ceiling) - JShack

OEL isn't going anywhere, but he would fit our core perfectly. |
|
|
|
Karlsson and OEL are both game breaking talents, but they bring different elements to the table. If you want the bigger, complete two-way D who still produces great numbers, go with OEL but if you want the smaller, defensively..questionable.. D who produces phenomenal stats, go with EK65. |

Ummm....no. We`re talking about Letang here, not the Norris Trophy winning Subban. Their first pick and any roster player not named Hall, RNH, EBs, Yaks, etc would be more than sufficient. Letang has a lot to prove still before he is considered a cornerstone building block of any franchise. Why do you think Pitts is willing to move him? If he was THAT good then they would open the vault for him just like they did for Crosby and Malkin. You don't trade d-men with elite talent. You make room to keep them! |

Klefbom>Dumoulin
7th overall > 8th overall
Paajarvi< Sutter
as for your argument, Paajarvi stuck with the big team this year and his point per game was almost equal to Sutter. Just saying.
as for the LA deal Simmonds didn't surpass 16 goals in the three years prior, Paajarvi was en route to 18 this year if pro rated for the full year. Now I will admit Simmonds two years ago is better than Paajarvi now, but don't play Paajarvi as trash. Takes longer for euro players to adjust. Look at when the Sedin's started to come along. They were almost 25. Paajarvi is 22. - ystoil
There's nothing wrong Paajarvi, fans of other teams label a guy a bust all the time just because they're not stars in the NHL by 20. You'd think lessons like Couture, Kadri, Voracek would open their eyes, but alas, everyone has to be stars right away. What i find funny is the number of 18 year old stars that take huge falls back at 19 and 20 years of age, yet they don't get the same criticism. |

Most are if you approach them with your own unbias opinions. There's trash-talking and then there's looking beyond opposing teams logos and assessing what they actually have. |

One has to wonder why Pitts wants to get rid of him if he's such elite talent. 7 million? That's not too bad |

It is when 50 % of your payroll is tied into 5 players. Shero may have given himself wiggle room with the Kunitz contract, but the Fleury one hurts. |

Yeah sure, get a player who is asking for over 7 million. In the most financially restricted market. |

We have D prospects coming out like you wouldn't believe. I like the Swede, but we need someone ready to play and make impact on the blueline. Someone young and good. |
|
|
|
I think it takes someone other than Klefbom. The Penguins already have too many D prospects. This would just add to the log jam. I think it would have to be a forward prospect coming back. The problem is, the Oilers don't have many(or any for that matter) forward prospects. I would want an Eberle for a singed Letang swap. - tomcol385
Letang is crap defensively. |

You really don't get it do you. It's something we have been trying to tell you. Most aren't a fan of putting 65% of our cap on five players. It's not hard to figure out.

i think that's a lot to pay for Letang. Klefbom and the 7th? maybe Klefbom and a second or the 7th and a lesser prospect. both is too much for a guy that one-dimensional.
also, as for that no first pairing dman, Chris Pronger? |
