Letang said today he wants to be a Penguin and the Pens just offered him an 8 year deal. I bet they get him signed.

Besides I'm guessing Smid or Schultz would need to take Paajarvi's place. The Pens are win now not looking for prospects. Did you see the deadline deals?

Eberle and Schultz might work.

Why bother posting that?

If Kris Letang trade were needed, #Pens prefer Western partner and are intrigued by prospects w/ #Canucks and #NHLDucks. Via @RobRossi_Trib

Do the Canucks really want to strip an already thin prospect pool for one (albeit elite)
guy?

As much as I'd be opposed to Letang, this could be our only chance for a legit #1, plus it could send Schultz' development into overdrive.

Hmm... Gagner and the 7th? Go for Lecavalier in UFA? A man can dream...

Nonis isn't that dumb to trade Gardiner for a small 2nd line center. He would package Gardiner for a way better player. Maybe someone like Letang.

Every blog this guy thinks he can get star players back without including a star player in the deal. No way you get an elite d-man like Letang without giving up Eberle.

Pens have a 8yr-54 mill deal on the table.
If rejected he will be traded.

I think we can all assume he would want more from any other team given his situation in Pitts. Would the Oilers do 7.5 per?

Youre in familiar territory then

Frankly, Im just sick of your kind around here. Next time, approach this thread with more tact and maybe youll get treated better. Until then, your history leaves me little reason to do so.

I think its a decent offer Rich. But I'm not sure he's the type of d-man you guys need. Schultz is already that offensive d-man isn't he?

I'd think a guy like Hamonic would be more the type of guy you'd need or a healthy Marc Staal.

Man, I don't read the comments on this site much. You guys are a bunch of jerks hahaha. The dude is throwing out some ideas, he isn't punching your mothers or anything. It's not a completely baseless suggestion. If Nichushkin is still available I think the deal become more plausible. He fits the Pens needs.

Letang will not come to Vancouver. It's a nice story with the Luc Bourdon connection, but won't happen.

We don't need another C. If I'm Shero I ask for Eberle as a starting point, and the two GM's go from there

Pens have to throw in a 1st and we'll talk. Also I believe that the cap no longer applies to Vancouver so we can take Crosby off of their hands as well.

the pens would want a roster player, similar to the Staal trade (Sutter in that case) in that deal along with the oilers first rounder. Teubert is a good guy to throw in, but id see the deal looking more like this:

Oilers 1st rounder
Paavarji
Whitney
Other draft pick

For

Letang

Sadly i dont even think that is enough to get Letang, although you can only hope. I see him going to the Leafs (who are preferred by Letang and have enough d-man talent to make the deal) but even that may be a stretch.

Staal for Sutter, Dumoulin, and the 8th.

Richards for Schenn, Simmonds, and... a 2nd?

I really like you. I totally agree. Letang would fit in Van Phi or Tor, much better.

That being said, I think of those 2, Phi and (possibly) Tor have the prospect depth and cap space to make that happen.

Letangs agent said on sports net that Letang has no interest in the leafs.
Don't know whether he's making it up or the first report in false.
