This thread is a joke.
Non-Oiler fans:
-You guys Need Letang
-Letang would never sign an extension to live in Sh!tty Edmonton
(most) Oiler fans:
Letang is a great player,but wants too much money,trade cost is too high,and is not really the ideal D-Man for the Oilers.
Non-Oiler fans:
-You can't get him without Eberle,your 1st,and Klefbom
(most Oiler fans):
- But we don't really want him?
Non Oiler fans:
-Fine. Make it Hall,Klef and your first and the Pens will talk to you.
(most) Oilers fans:
-Huh? WTF?

Richard, seriously would love to see Letang
in an Oiler uniform but not at the expense of our future. Trading our first round pick and Klefbom plus another young forward is over payment! Lots of Canuck and leaf fans rambling that it will take one of the top six to as well are drinking tainted L'Tang. These Leaf and Canuck fans are living in a state of sugar plums they always over rate their own players and bash other Canadian teams...it's all about being insecure folks!!
Stay the course MacT ....keep the core and build around them

If he's running the special teams why would you fire him? |

Played 80 games for Oil back in 80's. Coached with Eakins in TOR(NHL).
Was also assistant in CBJ last year.
Very familiar with everyone. |

@AHLBarons
Per reports, Pelss had been out partying and stated he had wanted to swim in the river, but friends talked him out of it. #oilers #OKCBarons
@AHLBarons
After they left, Pelss went on his own and jumped from the bridge a little ways out from the shore. #OKCBarons #oilers |

It's a good will move by the new coach. He'll let the old guys have a shot at staying, but don't be surprised to see one or both of the oldguard replaced before the end of the year. |

Yeah I'd say if there's a team that has the assets they could use to land Letang it'd be the Oilers
But...Would Letang want to sign long-term there?
I don't see why not, it'd be like playing with the Penguins all over again |

Once again....no thanks. Don't want him. Especially not for the price. Not the type of guy we need. |

Everything is suggesting he had the choice of keeping them or not. What kinda gets me is he didn't interview anyone other than Acton though. |

I can't remember where I read it, but MacT has been wanting to deal for quite some time. Sounds like the old vet GM's aren't in a panic. Not surprising though these (frank)ing guys need deadlines to get poop done. |

Said he was his top choice so ill respect him for that. As for bucky and smith I was hoping they would bring in new guys too but Eakins made a good point with keeping some form of continuity with young players |

I think you have to be more patient. Even if he is anxious to do something, he needs a partner. Not always easy to just go out and pull the trigger on a deal. I think we'll see something this weekend.
Edit:
Anyone catch the episode of Oil change during trade deadline? When the deal between Wash/Nash was announced with Forsberg/Erat and they were all standing around talking about it. Lowe did not look to pleased and Tambo had a sheepish look. I think that was when Lowe decided that it was time for change. I think he believed Edmonton could have made that deal by sweetening the pot a little. |

Fair enough. Personally like MacT with his process, would've been nice to see Eakins interview more just simply to get some more opinions.
Fact is we weren't looking for a head coach, but Eakins said something and MacT loved him for it. At the very least Eakins could've heard what more people think the Oil should do. |
