It really is but the Sabres have 3 options here.

1. try and convince daddy that a 2-3 yr bridge gap deal in the 3.5 per range is all the rage.

OR

2. Daddy says FU we are going to test the RFA market and look to get an offer sheet. Which leeds to the 8 yr 5 mil range deal.

OR

3. Trade him
