I think 2 is reasonable for Zykov. He's supposedly a very hard worker and he improved dramatically from last year to this. He plays in the Q though, so I'm assuming he couldn't even go to Rochester for at least 1 season, right?
- Pierceme69

thats right so it is 3 years in the Q(until he is 20)then AHL or he must jump to the NHL....not easy for a guy with one year of Juniors unnder his belt.

I hate this agreement....there should be a waiver for players say every 2 years allowed to have one player make the jump...I am actually suprised no CHL player has tried to sue the leagues as this rule does seem like it would be illegal to prevent a player from playing in the AHL.

Lindholm has one more year in Sweden & then he'll be playing in the NHL
May end up starting at the wing,
But he doesn't need more time to hone his skills
Just has to add some pounds, which shouldn't be too hard as an 18yr old

- jdfitz77

I don't think he needs to add too much more weight... Places I've read say he's anywhere from 183-194 pounds. If we bulks up, he could pull a Myers.

Seems like a great skater and passer. He's also pretty hard on the puck as well.

Correct
No AHL till he's 20
He can go play overseas though if we wanted
Prob just spend some more time in the Q though

NHL teams should be able to select 2 players per year and allow them to play in the AHL only. They still use the EL slide rules (see Girgensons contract) but are not allowed to play in the NHL.

Some players at 17/18 have done all they can do in the CHL but aren't ready to play in the NHL yet. This would allow players to advance their skills at a younger age, NHLPA has guys playing in the NHL younger(which means longer careers and more money), Organizations get players ready to compete younger and longer, and the CHL only loses 60 players at most.

yes agree to disagree....Lindholm may see the NHL after next year he may get a year in the AHL too so he gets used to the NNorth American rinks and playing style...depends who drafts him.
but with players in the CHL like Zykov it is NHL or CHL and they cant play in the AHL so I don't see many NHL teams rushing propects......they never do.

- toddkac

That makes sense...
I just think these 10-25 guys are usually 5-10 guys most years
Not all of them will be ready,
And it will also depend on the situation the team that drafts them is in

I like it
NHL & CHL are tight though
I doubt it that they'll change that agreement bc it's pretty vital to the CHL's success

I always question highlight footage of guys not scoring goals. Anyone can shoot into the goalie's pads.

It's just an honest "highlight" reel. There are other ones showing goals and assists, but this gives you a MUCH better look at how he plays the game.

I'm not sure what's more emblematic of the "good old days": Briere or the Easton Synergy Si-Core he's using.

Best jersey of all time, I have a sweet spot for it because it was the first hockey jersey I EVER owned, girl friend/now wife bought it for me and I started following the Sabres

So I think we see Miller traded before the draft and Vanek at the draft.

I would like Ryan Strome, Courturier, Kuznetsov(risky) or Edmonton's number 7th pick(Bob McKenzie says it is up for grabs)

So rumors about NYI wanting Miller.....

Is Miller's stock going to rise? What is the feeling on Miller?

- toddkac

You'll get a little better deal than what was given up for Bernier.

2014 1st, a top 9 guy(with potential), and either a 3-5 dman(with potential), and a b +/- prospect.

These Nino/Strome and the 15th rumor are ridiculous.

Some GM will get a b0ner for him and over pay in a trade, that is one thing DR is pretty good at doing. I like Miller and I honestly think he can be the difference on a team that is close but its not that is not the Sabres so at this point he would be wasting his time being here.
