Gardiner's advanced stats/possession numbers show that he's a pretty damn good d-man already and he's still young and relatively inexperienced. I think Pitt would end up being very happy if they could get Gardiner + another good asset back for Letang.

Sutter had 286 gp under his belt.

Gardiner is still a "prospect" with his 87 NHL gp.


IMO a better deal can be had unless it become a sort of 3 way deal with Toronto using assets acquired from moving Phaneuf.

I only give him up for 5th overall. We need a new young core and getting a player at 5 would be better then having ehrhoff.

I think myers is still untouchable. He had a bad year we all know it. My theory for his struggle is that he came out of shape, and spent practice time getting in shape rather then working on his skills.

the mavericks just traded the rights of their 2 picks (first being 16th overall) and some other scrub for the rights to the guy taken with the 18th pick
