i just don't understand the intensity of the frustration and anger. i mean yea, i get it that you guys are frustrated and angry because there is a risk that if he gets injured, we have the potential to be stuck with the cap recapture hit for 2-3 years 6 years from now, but the level of this frustration and anger is through the roof. people are ready to put a hit out on sather for this.
the rangers, on paper, are a deeper, more experienced, more versatile, more skilled, more talented, more clutch team with richards on the squad. if he can rebound under AV, he can be that bonafide #1 center, PP QB, veteran that we signed him to be.
by the time he retires, the cap will probably be at 80 mil and his 4.5 mil recapture penalty hit will hardly put a dent in it. additionally, we can put him on LTIR ala pronger and circumvent the whole recapture thing completely. it's not as big of a risk as a lot of people think.
plus, just like you people aren't sold on richards rebounding, i'm not sold on stepan being a bonafide #1 center that will consistently produce at almost a PPG level for the rest of his career. richards just fills too many holes and adds so much to the team. |

also, to all you staal eye haters:
Malhotra told the NY Times in March, “It’s Mike’s views and Mike’s decisions that he didn’t feel I was safe out on the ice. I don’t agree with that.”
Gillis said that it was unsafe for Malhotra to play with the damaged vision he has, but Malhotra says that he has adjusted and that doctors say his vision is getting sharper.

I think I've been rather calm and realistic. Did I want him back, no. Do you me saying that the Rangers should trade him, no. I know we're stuck with him for at least a year. That's our medicine, we gotta just take it. |

That would be nice. It just worries me, cause the Rangers are basically going into next year with the same team, unless a trade happens. They better hope Av and his system works. This roster wasn't good enough last year - TPC
The bottom 6 sucks unless we're looking some kids coming in, we're not winning a god dam thing with slow and small Boyle and Pyatt on this team |

i like boyle as a 4th line winger. he looked to have more confidence and remembered to shoot the puck in the playoffs and was one of the better players on the squad. if that play carries over into next season, then he could be one of the best 4th line players in the league. additionally, he's excellent defensively, on draws, and on the PK.
buuuuut he has to stay buried on the 4th line otherwise he needs to be bounced. |

You guys are nuts if u think Stepan is gonna only get 4.25M. He scored at 80Pt pace this year, he's our 2nd best defensive forward next to Callahan, he's our #1 Center, he plays PK, PP, Even, he's the most versatile forward we have, and u think he's gonna sign the same price we signed Dubinsky at 4 years ago??? |

Pravel Brendel was in 1999. The draft process has significantly improved since then. - tomburton99
That is true but I was just making a point. Skinner is a hell of
A player and better than most others at #5.
That said, I would keep staal -trade someone else. |

I agree though further development of young guys and a new
Coach could make a big big difference. Some serious tweaks to the
Bottom 6 also.
I could see Kreider moore miller all bringing their game to
Another level. If stepan does, he will be hot sh!t. |
