they need defense badly and DZ is a good offensive defenseman, i think they'll do it
- webleedblue

They have Faulk and Pitkanen, they dont need offensive defenseman.

I like the idea of Lecavalier centering our 2nd line because he is a different kind of player than Richie. He has size, skill, and shoots the puck more often. I can see MZA on a line w Brassard and Clowe or someone with size riding shotgun. IMO our 1st line should have Step down the middle with Nash and Hagelin on the wings. The biggest problem that I saw was our 3rd and 4th liners getting overmatched and outplayed by the B's 4th liners. I don't necessarily believe you have to have 3 skilled players on each line to succeed, because it weakens your other lines.

Here's what I would like to see : Trade MDZ in a package to EDM for Gagner
to WPG for Bfyuglien
to TOR for Phaneuf
to ANH for Ryan
to MIN for Pominville

(these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion)
SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $64,556,667; BONUSES: $762,500
CAP SPACE (21-man roster): $505,833

Instead of listing everything, simply stated, the Rangers have $14.2M in available Capspace. You are underestimating the cost of Stepan, he will command at least 4.5-5M. McDonagh will as well. I'm thinking it will cost about 9.5M for the both of them. Zuccarello will not sign for 1.35M, thats just ridiculous. Even arbitration would award him more than that just based on comparable point per game production. Zucc will get about 2M and Hagelin will get about 2M as well. That really leaves only about 1M left and thats without signing a single backup Dman. If they bring up McIlrath, his cap hit will be 1.295 because he's a 1st round pick so its not even enough space to call him up, not to mention JT Miller if he needs to be called up. You need a 23 man roster, not a 21.

Think rick nash size with malkin hands and skill.
- rangerdanger94

Personally I don't believe the hype with him. I thikn he's got Kiril Kabonov's attitude mixed Matt Moulson's skill set. Nichuksin is great from the hash mark in. Past that, i don't know.

Well, first, youre wrong on Zucc's, his agent already came out and said that they were in the works for a contract, about 3 years in length and the money was expect to be "very team friendly". Secondly, MZA hasnt done anything yet to make the same kind of money that Hagelin does.

Stepan will not get the same amount that McDonagh will. He will get less.

I think Stepan and McDonagh will take slightly less, Sather is a hard bargainer.

Is this your opinion or something of fact?

Cause Kabanov was known to be a cocky, egotistical head case.

He killed it in the khl as a kid playing against men. Hes probably the most nhl ready kid after barkov.

If u dont like his comments about nhl or khl, I understand. But u need to keep an open mind with this kid because top scouts were saying hes a 1st overall talent any other year and we shouldn't rule him out just because of something he said.

I think we all would bud but ryan will cost us stepan+, jvr will cost us something similar (he had a breakout season last year and is exactly the type of player toronto has been dying to get for years. Dont forget he was a 3rd overall pick so his ceiling is really high) and wheeler can be doable but I dont know why the jets would wanna move him.

NYR will not be using their remaining compliance buyout this summer so Brad Richards will remain a Blueshirt.

wheeler is very doable i think but i would first try to get that pick, if the price is too high move on and get wheeler, jets need depth, we can give them a nice package

Its the russian factor.

I remember bob mckenzie tweeting that this kid would be taken over barkov and drouin hands down if he was north american.

Only if he gets injured. Its worth saying that throughout his career, he's been very, very healthy.

This literally only hurts is if he gets injured. Otherwise it only makes the roster better imo.

no because he's blocking miller and lindberg, we need a big winger no richards, is this official?
