Well, I don't think anyone will ever forget what Mess did for he organization. But, it's not all that unexpected, he has not taken well to rejection, it's time to move on. I think it's best for everyone involved.

Hopefully, this doesn't turn into a long chill between him and the Rangers, because usually when someone releases a statement saying there resigning had nothing to do with "X", that means it had everything to do with "X".

Messier just resigned, he's going to pursue developing the Kingsbridge National Ice Center.

Yep, but like we said last week, he really handled this whole Coach thing terrible, he has such an ego he really thought he was gonna get the job.

More convinced now, Slats has something cooking, if it happens Richards is gone. If not, he might stay.

I think he'll show. I feel like he didn't leave with hard feelings but he just realized that gorton is next in line for gm and since he didn't get the coaching position, there really wasn't a place for him to take charge and be the head guy.

I'm sure he was disappointed but I doubt he's mad or will hold a grudge.

Well, it would have to be, and it probably involves taking on some salary, or at least it would require buying out Richards. I mean, why "shortly"? Why not an hour ago, or tomorrow?

I think he'll show. I feel like he didn't leave with hard feelings but he just realized that gorton is next in line for gm and since he didn't get the coaching position, there really wasn't a place for him to take charge and be the head guy.

Whatever trade they are trying to pull, it must be a pretty big deal for it to be the fringe on which a Richards buy out hangs...

As I said, he wanted a head position and knows there's too many people in front of him. Disappointed but not mad or crying like a baby.
