yup. So lets not blame Plek and try to actually solve the problem. Give Plek Pacioretty for a season and see what happens

Neither would Krecji on this team.

They have to give something if they want to get something. Plekanec is the only forward that might hold enough value to bring something worthwhile.

But hey, if a GM liked Eller and is ready to give a lot, why not?

Eller has prompted the most inquiries since MB became GM per MB (this was prior to the holdout)

You really think we are winning a cup with (just for example) Sharp on Eller's wing instead of a UFA like JAgr on Plek's wing?

Yes, without question. Jagr is finished.

Well, I meant that the team would be better. They wouldn't win a cup altogether.

This is my point. Plek isn't the (frank)ing problem

He's too small and disappears in the playoffs. I like him, really. I don't think he's the problem, but he's part of the Habs' systemic problem of having small, skilled forwards, and that's not his fault.

Currently, the Habs have three top six centers, and two top six wingers (three if you count Bourque). The logical thing would be to trade one of these centers for a winger. If you want to have something good, you gotta give something good in return. If I thought Plekanec sucked, I would not say that the Habs would trade him, because I would know that he currently holds no value, like DD.

I think Eller or Plekanec will be moved, but teams know what they get in Plekanec, and a team like the Hawks (only an example) would be a very good fit because they know they'll be able to get the most of him by reducing his workload.

Give the gig to Eller, who will thrive with the big winger Plekanec will fetch.
- _nay_

Will this big winger be one of the best in the league for same salary as pleks?
Pleks two way abilities have him amongst top in the league for a reasonable price.
That said there will be a jam at centre pretty soon.

Do you remember a couple of years ago when Habs fans would say that they'd take Plekanec before Bergeron anyday?
