I'm sure Holmgren is salivating at the idea of buying out Lecavalier in a year

More than likely Quebec reports.

Production drop is more about GP than about production though.

Good thing Montreal has a history of keeping their players off the IR

Underrated. Like Ladd was when he played in CHI.

I just love trading Good young centers with size for 3rd line centers and a pending UFA.

I'm the only idiot in here that wants Bolland.

Looks like I'm also one of the fews that want to keep Plek around for many more years to come.

- WaterBoy

No, your the only one who want to trade Eller. That's the core of the argument here.

I would like Bolland, but I prefer Eller than him. AND I want to keep Plek.

Ok. Anyone suggesting moving Plekanec for the sake of moving him because he's a playoff dud is not right in the head and needs help. Let's start there.

But my argument is that by signing Lecavalier, the Habs should shop Plekanec since it's been reported for 2 years now that many teams are interested in the guy. If that's the case, let the teams in question have a bidding war. The price can start at a productive top 6 winger (something the Habs need more than a center if we already have Lecavalier, Galchenyuk, Eller and Desharnais here) and can maybe escalate to the point of including an interesting defenceman, or at least a sexy draft pick.

- kev1586

It depend on how long we would sign Lecavalier for. A lot of people say that Vinny would look for a 1year deal, so he could go back to TB after where his family is.

So sign Vinny for 1 year, put DD on the wings. After that you can put DD back to center, or graduate Galchenyuk there.

Watch more Hawks games, you'll change your mind. Bolland is better than Eller will ever be.
Replace Gionta by Stalberg, should get you the same production and bigger size for less $$$.

if that is his plan, then why not sign with the panthers for 1mil for 1 year, and not move at all.

If he signs for 3, try to trade Plek for nice package. If he signs for 1, move DD for bag of pucks.

And terribly inconsistent.

And a healthy scratch during most of the playoffs.

Bet Bergevin had a plan when he woke up this morning, and then he saw the Lecavalier news... probably said "(frank), not that, not now!"
