Look at Schneider's stats the last 3yrs. Rivals any stat you can dig up from Luongo's entire career. Schneider is entering his prime. Luongo is exiting his prime. Infront of the same team, same D, same system, Schneider has outperformed Lu for 3 years now.

As soon as Cory struggled he got a break to figure things out ... Cory has played great and I would go with him but he has been helped too

He was a great regular season coach here and an absolutely awful playoff coach. As this is a team trying to win a Stanley Cup, not President's Trophies, I say good riddance.

Torts comes to a team that is resetting in cap trouble and is going to make the sedins shot blocking pk guys

Sure there's a difference between being a backup and being a starter. But Cory's numbers over the past 3 seasons, where he's played almost half the games, are sensational. There are not highs and lows. They are consistently outstanding. Don't forget he was also outstanding in the AHL too, and he's 27. He has been brought along slowly and it's paid off. He was never rushed into a situation like so many young goalies have been where their confidence is affected and their play starts to dwindle.

When I'm talking about top goalies in nhl yes , if schnieder plays 65-70 games next year and is at the top of the league in goalie stats ill come on here and say I was wrong and he is too 5 but until he does that there are guys like Lundquist, quick, Rask , Niemi , broduer, rinne , backstrom , smith , miller who have done that
