It would take a significant roster player, as well, both to clear cap, and also because of the fact that some teams could offer their top two prospects and it would probably be a more attractive offer than the Canucks' top 10...

Even $7m a year is too much. Can't be done. IMO, Letang isn't a game breaker. He's a guy that plays well with game breakers.

Didn't Esplen do a piece where he didn't even have Luongo going to Socchi? I think he rescinded shortly after that though...Luongo is going to be the Brodeur of this Olympics. Play until you falter and then the up and comer plays. Question is who is the up and comer?

Tanev was originally going to represent himself and last week(?) ended up hiring a local guy to be his agent. Talks are in process, expect he will get signed.

They have talked but Tanev just picked up an agent to help negotiations. Apparently being your own agent isn't such a good idea.
