ANA - Gibson, Sbisa and a first rounder
TOR - Gardiner, a first and a top prospect - Oneonta Penguin
Anaheim is a team that has some nice pieces that I wouldn't mind the Penguins to get. They have good young forward prospects and I like Gibson a lot. Sbisa is a quality young d-man too. |

Anaheim is as good of a trade partner as I have seen mentioned for Pittsburgh regarding Letang. |

Dude, their farm system sucks beyond belief. They ain't trading Duchesne or Landeskog, nor should they. Pass on Stastny. Who else is left. Please don't say Downie and that bust Erik Johnson. They aren't trading the first pick either. - Oneonta Penguin
E.Johnson, the bust, has a pretty good cap hit. He's not a star but is a fine top 4. Downie a perfect "Cooke" type. Jumps from 3rd to 2nd line easily. McGinn is a top 6 project...a 2nd round pick would have to br thrown.
I know...you hate the deal... |

I think I got 2 min for unsportsmanlike... maybe gunner gets 2 for too many men? damn... I can't stop myself... that was meant to be in jest... |

But do you realisticaly think they'll give Letang a $8M contract? They already have two with Getzlaf and Perry. This could be the deal breaker...
Gibson and Etem are not getting traded IMO...we'll see. |

Detroit is an off the radar one that I think of. Colligan had some hypothetical teams and targets up a few days ago.

I hope you're right man...what kind of deals do you expect in return? - Orpik44
Edmonton = Eberle
Anaheim = Ryan
Colorado = #1 pick
These would be the core part of the package and not necessarily represent the whole deal both ways. |

Colorado ain't parting with the #1 pick. You better get more than that for Letang.

Letang and fleury to peg for pavelic, Ladd or wheeler and 1st - sammy87
I would take Ladd and Wheeler off their hands right away but it ain't happening. They already have Enstrom and Bifuglyen to carry the offensive load. |

I thought about Kronwall....
Abdelkader?.... - Orpik44
Not Kronwall. It would be a Kindl/Smith, 1st, Jurco type deal |

I fail to see why Winnipeg would do this. Fleury isn't much of an upgrade over Pavelic. I think Pavelic would give us many Fleury moments in Pittsburgh. Winnipeg has Buff and Enstrom. They don't need Letang.

You are so infatuated with third and fourth line guys. |

As i mentioned(in my edit ... sorry) these would be the core names in the deal, and not represent the whole deal. Also I'm not an NHL GM... But I did stay at a Holiday Inn once.... |

Looks like Tanger is tying the Pens hands a la Staal last year. - errey12
Not as bad a staal in the sense that we can trade him to more than one team...for now |

You don't like Kronwall?He'd be quite an improvement defensively.
Abdelkader can crash the net. We need guys like him on the roster...plus his cap hit is not bad. I like Darren Helm too.
Off course we'd have to get something else from them (read picks or prospects). |

They would have to trade Ryan to get Letang locked in for the following year at 8 million. While Hiller comes off the books at 4.5; they have a poop load of UFAs and RFAs after this year - Cogliano at 2.4; Winnik at 1.8; Holland is a RFA at 1.3; DSP is a RFA at 870K; Bonino is a RFA at 700K and Vantanen is an RFA at 1.3. A bunch of those would be due raises.

I love Kronwall. He isn't going anywhere so no sense talking about him.
I can't stand Abdelkader as a focal point to a deal for Letang. |

Agreed. PLUS Letang is MUCH more valuable in the market then Staal. If a team can gaurantee that Letang resigns with them I expect the return to be much greater then Staal. |

First and foremost, the question anybody should ask before proposing any trade scenarios is...
If you were Letang, where would you want to play the best years of your career?
That's all that matters. Letang isn't singing a long term deal in 60 to 70% of markets. This is fact.
If you're the Pens, what teams would you refuse to deal with. 2 or 3 of those remaining teams.....we all know who they are. Narrows it down to about 6 or 7 possibilities. |

We should be sitting pretty then. I'm not sure what to expect but hero always seems to work his magic. He pulled some voodoo stuff on thy staal trade I certainly didn't expect that big of a return. I think we will be fine with what shero does. |

I'm not too sure one of those two or three teams can afford him. They blew both buyouts already; have Mark Streit coming in at 5.25 and have to deal with raises for Giroux, Brayden Schenn and the next Ron Francis. That doesn't include finding a goalie.

Truthfully right now it looks like he will go to whoever gives him the money he wants. |
